Mr. Uri this is lovely work! But might you consider dropping the no-derivs clause one day? So it can live on forever? I don't think anyone could pull off a fork as well as you and It might help encourage others to help you more with it.

Anyway amazing work.

Hi!, and thanks for the comment. The set will live on as I will continue to maintain it for a long long time.

I see thumbnails for plain text files in nautilus only when I choose ubuntu-mono-light or dark, but not in any other third-party icon theme, including yours. Do you have any idea about this please?

Open an issue on Github about it with screenshots, not sure what you mean.

I did these for Nitrux (for light GTK themes):
Quote:
ln -sf "~/.local/share/icons/Nitrux/actions/22/media-playback-start.svg" "~/.local/share/icons/Nitrux/status/22/vlc.svg"

Quote:
ln -sf "~/.local/share/icons/Nitrux/actions/24/media-playback-start.svg" "~/.local/share/icons/Nitrux/status/24/vlc.svg"

It works OK.
But when I do this for Nitrux-Dark (for dark GTK themes):
Quote:
ln -sf "~/.local/share/icons/Nitrux-Dark/actions/22/media-playback-start.svg" "~/.local/share/icons/Nitrux-Dark/status/22/vlc.svg"

I also get a monochrome icon in the unity launcher.
I wonder why it doesn't display the regular icon in Nitrux/apps like above :/

It's likely because the dark theme doesn't have the apps directory in it and it's not specified in the index.theme file.

Report

sadi

No. It has an apps sub-directory and it's included in the index.theme file. It does inherit all launcher app icons from the main Nitrux icon set, but oddly prefers that vlc icon in the status sub-directory.

For some reason Unity does that. I have tryed doing that with sevral themes I installed.

If you have issues with the theme, there's the GitHub repository (listed in the description) where you can open an issue, with screenshots, and detailing your problem.

After upgrading to Gnome 3.14 the icons in the app chooser thingy (technical terms) are blurry however after changing

[apps/48]
Size=48
Context=Applications
Type=Fixed

to

[apps/48]
Size=48
Context=Applications
Type=Scalable
MinSize=48
MaxSize=256

in index.theme it's crispy clear again. I think gnome changed the specs or got more anal about how things are supposed to be. Found the answer from here: https://github.com/numixproject/numix-icon-theme-square/issues/5

I like the new, lighter icons in Nautilus sidebar.
I think the (old?) standard folder icons used for Bookmarks might look better perhaps by making them more consistent with the others.

Secondly, I have two non-monochrome icons in my Unity top panel: Redshift and ClipIt.

Report

sadi

FYI: I've got monochrome icons for Redshift and ClipIt by adding 3 icons to the respective sub-folders as below:
/apps/22/clipit.svg
/status/22/redshift-status-on.svg
/status/22/redshift-status-off.svg
Icons I've used: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39189022/Redshift%2BClipIt_monolight.tar.bz2

What bookmarks folder? or where?

I'll check the panel icons.

Report

sadi

Sorry, I meant the Bookmarks in Nautilus Sidebar showing small folders with dark fill and not the new small folder icons with no fill color, just outlines...

Report

DevianTN7k1

Ah, it's displaying the gnome folder?.

Report

sadi

Yes, I've just checked, and saw that it's not yours, which means probably a symlink needs to be added somewhere...

Report

DevianTN7k1

Actually that would be a symbolic icon, but yes I have to look for its name. Do other icons don't show up?.
