I like your usplash screen, but when I want to download it, I get an error:
"Download doesn't exist".

Can you re-upload it?

A todos que falam português, se voces querem instalar este splash, primeiro terão que fazer o download do arquivos fontes disponibizados nos link é só procurar pelo link de souce depois do download feito, desconpacte-o na sua area de trabalho e entre na pasta via terminal e compile os arquivos fonte com o comando Make, ele vai gerar o arquivo .SO que ai é so instala com o Startup Manager!!!

Same as Ampersand13, I'm on ubuntu Hardy and it just wont show the theme. Only text.

when I try to compile the sources it says:

make: Circular u640_480_background.png <- u640_480_background.png.c dependency dropped.
pngtousplash u640_480_background.png > u640_480_background.png.c
/bin/sh: pngtousplash: not found
make: *** [u640_480_background.png.c] Error 127
rm u640_480_background.png.c

Thank you for the great splash theme. It looks awesome!

For whom this theme doesn't work, try compiling it from source, (That what I had to do )

The load bar is glitchy a bit (blinking once in a while) but that's minor, so definitely worth trying!

but not for me :(

it just wont show when i boot.
if i type sudo usplash into terminal the screen goes black then returns to the desktop.

im pretty sure i followed your instructions completely so i dont see why it isnt working.
im running hardy by the way

Here's a doozy. This boot screen works great with the exception of the text box. In that area, the background is an obnoxious blue, and the text is a deep grey. Any ideas?

Hi, on my blog a guy left a comment about your same problem, he said you should add the vga=791 to your menu.lst. Have a look and let me know if it works for you

please excuse my total ignorance here, but where exactly in the list am I supposed to put 'vga=791' in menu.lst. (Im an ubuntu novice, apologies)

I think the splash looks really cool however I'm curious what would happen if you chose a screen resolution other than one that is supported by your monitor. I have an Asus G50vt-x1 which i am happy with and is an amazing laptop, save for it's one quirk, the native 1366 X 768 max resolution screen. Any thoughts on what may happen?

Quality, it works fine on Jaunty amd64 (intel 945 chipset) after compiling from source.

I hope you do a portsmouth version when Karmic comes out in october! :)

I really like this USplash.

But when using the verbose mode the security check of vfat formated hard discs go beyond the scobe of the textarea.

I also have this problem with my own splash screen and heaven't found a solution yet.

This is caused by the textarea being too small for that text. I don't have that problem as I use XFS instead of extX... that check is really annoying in my opinion :)

However I suggest you to try giving more space to the textarea, particulary to the

.status_width parameter.

Usually I always saw it set beetween 15 and 25 but you can try increasing it to 40 and see if something changes..

Let me know if you need further help :)
