Ambiance_R (Ambiance Right Side)
Metacity Themes
With the recent release of Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid, the new default theme is called Ambiance.
Ambiance introduced a movement of the window border controls from the top right side, to the top left side of the window.
This version of Ambiance is a modification of the default theme and moved the controls back to their original position.
This is a direct modification of the default theme. The original name of this theme is Ambiance, this version of the theme is called Ambiance_R (Ambiance Right Side).
No other changes have been made to this theme other than to restore the window border controls to their original right side position and reactivate the menu control in the original left side top position.
To install this them in Ubuntu 10.04 you can follow these steps.
System -> Preferences -> Appearance
Click the Theme tab.
Click Install.
Browse to the Ambiance_R.tar.gz file.
Click open.
This will install the theme automatically for you.
Once installed you should now see a new theme entitled Ambiance_R.
Select this theme and you will have the new Ambiance theme with the controls in the top right side position.
If you are going to install this theme on a previous version of Ubuntu or other version of Linux you will need to also install the default icons Ubuntu-mono-dark and Ubuntu-mono-light.
You can download the require .deb package from the ubuntu servers using the following link:

Now I am back into the sarene comfort of the 10.04 color scheme. While it looks a little dreary on cold winter days, it does what it needs to in a very sensible manner. It's like me: Humble, a little introverted but all-around wonderful.

No, this is a problem with MetaCity. If you want the program icon, either use the Emerald, or if KDE gives it to you, see if you can't make use of the kde-window-decorator addon.
If you are getting Emerald, an easy way to switch back and forth from Emerald and GTK/Metacity is to also grab the fusion-icon package, which gives you Compiz Fusion Icon under Applications > System Tools. Load that, right click and change the window decorator.
And for all who may be concerned, there is no need for the R themes if you use 10.10, open gconf-editor and look under apps/metacity/geberal and change button_layout to menu:maximize, minimize, restore
Have a nice day. :)

If you don't wanna deal with GTK, get Emerald and fusion-icon packages for ease of switching between the decorators without terminal.
I was typing everything in a moving vehicle and that explains why. Also, it's BugMeNot.

Linux is about freedom of choice, many people have asked me for this theme and this is meeting those requests, if you don't like the theme you aren't required to use it, however, there are many people who do in fact want it and use it.
Releasing this theme benefits the community in general, you aren't required to like it or use it, however there are many people who do want it.
Enjoy!
