There is only one thing I'd like to mention. The theme displays the wrong preview screenshot and instead shows the human theme preview. Other than that a great theme!

One suggestion: whatever font is being used for the buttons, make it the font used in the username and password slot. That would look very cool.

You should definitly edit thet GdmGreeterTheme.desktop - not only is the theme name bad, but so is the screenshot (you can put background.png - easy fix)...

But the author is bad also!

You shouldn't use 'gdmtheme' for a folder. I suggest 'system-access'. Also, you forgot to edit GdmGreeterTheme.desktop.

As it is, it shows as the default gdm theme, and if anything exists in 'gdmtheme' it will be erased.

I've got a 'fixed' 1024x768 version up:

Note that your background.png is 1280x1024, so it will get squished/stretched out (as the aspect ratio is wrong) and the text entry box might be in the wrong place.

I've got a fixed version up for 1024x600 screens (eeePC 1000):

i like it much.

but i was thinking. can you make some sort of background?

mybe the sorce for systemaccess, or some other thing? somthing look like cryptet. that well be realy cool.

I like too much this theme, but I don't like the font for the username textbox, if you can do it like Bold, it will be great, thanks a lot. It' excelent your theme.

I installed it correctly, but it won't show up in my gdm theme menu. I've tried reinstalling it, but every time it says that it is already install. Any suggestions?

It does not show in the gdm menu, but if you select the AGlancelsEnough theme, it works. It worked for me that way.

I made a modified version of the Widescreen tux version for my own use ; with green instead of blue and a nerdcore logo instead of tux.

I like this theme because is very simple and beatiful.
But ... How can I install it ?
I untar in the /usr/share/gdm/themes ( Ubuntu ) like others but gdm-setup desn't show it in the menu list. I always untar in this folder and with others themes there aren't anything problem.

Just go to System > Administration > Login Window and click on the Local tab. Drag the tar.gz file into the box and it will confirm if you want to install this file.

I think I know why everyone submits ubuntu themes

It's because the default ubuntu theme is so horribly fugly they NEED to customise it to make it look half decent.

They just keep the logo cause they want everyone to believe ubuntu is as nice looking as theirs.

Yeah the default theme is not good, but still ubuntu is the best distro when it comes to desktop OS.

Also, remember that for people who are not confident with computers, clarity comes before coolness or we will scare them away :)

The default Ubuntu theme is very clear and makes new users feel comfortable with it in my opinion. Nice theme!

If you enable the auto-login with countdown the shown text is like "user linux will be logged in at :d seconds"
