Description:

An Aero-OSX style theme. It uses icons from the Aero theme, OSX, and OS-K (KDE), as well as some new ones. It covers most gnome applications. In the extras pack there are icons for the cpu-freq applet as well as for gaim, emerald-theme-manager and one outstanding emblem.

Some outstanding issues are:
1. Volume applet
2. The sidebar icons in rhythmbox
3. The 3 icons on the very far right in file-roller
4. The network icons in the control center
5. The normal font icon in gaim
Any help with locating these icons appreciated.

INSTALLING EXTRAS:
sudo cp -r /usr/share/pixmaps/gaim /usr/share/gaim.bk
sudo cp -r /extras/gaim /usr/share/pixmaps/gaim
sudo cp -r /usr/share/pixmaps/lpi-help.png /usr/share/pixmaps/lpi-help.bk
sudo cp -r /extras/lpi-help.png /usr/share/pixmaps/lpi-help.png
sudo cp -r /usr/share/pixmaps/lpi-translate.png /usr/share/pixmaps/lpi-translate.bk
sudo cp -r /extras/lpi-translate.png /usr/share/pixmaps/lpi-translate.png
sudo cp -r /usr/share/pixmaps/cpufreq-applet /usr/share/cpufreq-applet.bk
sudo cp -r /extras/cpufreq-applet /usr/share/pixmaps/cpufreq-applet
sudo cp -r /usr/share/pixmaps/emerald-theme-manager-icon.png /usr/share/pixmaps/emerald.bk

First install imagemagick. I found it in the APT repositries. Its fairly straight forward to install. Then using a terminal use this command
mogrify -resize 24x24 *.png, making sure that you have used the cd command to go to the directory your icons are in. For example:-

$ cd home/richard/.icons/aer-os-xk/128x128/apps
$ mogrify -resize 24x24 *.png

and it converts your icons to 24x24 size or whatever you want it to be, just change the 24x24 to 32x32 or 48x48, you get the idea!

I have got the converter program and am able to run the build.sh file or whatever its called, but when i install it, it still has the large icons. The other sizes were made, but only the program files icons are made, not the other areas like catagories or devices. I deleted the 128x128 folder which fixed the large icons but it then doesnt have the icons from this set. i am so lost, and am using ubuntu 8.04

Well, this is not really a traditional icon set. First, You must untar the downloaded file, and run :
./buildset.sh
in the folder AER-OS-XK
After this, the correct sizes are made, and you can move the folder AER-OS-XK to /home/user/.icons/

:-D
(Sorry for my bad english)

Well, this is not really a traditional icon set. First, You must untar the downloaded file, and run :
./buildset.sh
in the folder AER-OS-XK
After this, the correct sizes are made, and a "good" AER-OS-XK.tar.bz2 file is made. Now, you can install this file with Gnome :d

Maybe I am getting something wrong here, but on my desktop some of the icons (battery meter, actions such as install, stop, etc. ) are unnaturally large. How do I fix this?

This is a really good theme ...

... but I think you should update this and make a better build-script with the simple option to choose the right distro-logo ... and maybe a README with some help to install (I use ubuntu Feisty and ImageMagick was not on my system by default, so the script send an error).

GoOn, it's really nice :-)

I tried changing the all the (aaXaa) icons "xfce-trash_full.png" icons to "user-trash-full.png"

Now, the trash does not change to the "full" icon when items are put in it.

Also the select all icon on the mouse menu (right click) is the gnome icon too.

Any help would be gladly accepted.

Once more, thanks for this great icon tedet!!!!

Which trash are we talking about? The fix I suggested works for nautilus and the trash applet. The only other thing I could suggest is adding the following in to the index.theme in the ~/.icons/AER-OS-XK/

[8x8/actions]
Size=8
Context=Status
Type=Fixed

[12x12/actions]
Size=12
Context=Status
Type=Fixed

[16x16/actions]

[20x20/actions]
Size=20

[22x22/actions]
Size=22
Context=Status
Type=Fixed

[24x24/actions]
Size=24
Context=Status
Type=Fixed

[32x32/actions]
Size=32

[48x48/actions]

[64x64/actions]

[72x72/actions]

The trash icon I'm talking about is in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, on the gnome panel, of a Ubuntu install.

That is the trash applet you might want to right click on it and remove it. Then right click on the panel and select "add to panel" then add the trash applet.
