Description:

This screenlet can display many system information and control some of them:

- CPU load
- multi CPU/core load
- list of more CPU consuming processes
- memory and swap load
- network usage (no configuration required)
- Wifi ESSID and signal quality (no configuration required)
- all temperature, fan and electric sensors (support lm_sensors, temperature from ACPI sensors, temperature from nvidia driver and nvclock, temperature and fan from ibm acpi, and hard drive temperature from hddtemp)
- hard disk usage
- Analog and digital clock
- Battery state and global capacity
- several system information like: local IP, external IP, uptime, login time, user name, host name, kernel version, KDE version, Gnome version, total disk space, total free disk space

The last version of this screenlet allows you to control system parameters (fan speed, GPU speed, etc...)

Design need to be improved, and new functionalities added.

I know I haven't provided any news or update, and haven't integrated patches for a very long time now. I'm really sorry for that. I will try to correct that as soon as possible.

Great Screenlet if only a few bugs were fixed.
1) CPU meter is inaccurate.
2) Doesn't lock when checked
3) Doesn't stay behind when checked. Always on top.

If these were fixed, this would be perfect. Great job.

Fantastic screenlet!
It's the only screenlet I run and installed screenlets just for this one!

Some dumb questions though..
Is there a way to remove the icons?
Like the clock icon, to just show text only?
If not do you think you might include this option in the future?

I had the same problem and I modified the screenlet. If you want to have it follow these steps:

1. You have to download this file http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/338963/WaterMarkScreenlet.py

2. Close your Watermark Screenlet

2. You have to find where is installed your Watermark screenlet. It is usually in ~/.screenlets/watermark.

3. Rename the file WaterMarkScreenlet.py to WaterMarkScreenlet_Backup.py.

4. Copy the downloaded file.

5. Restart the Watermark Screenlet, now you will find an option that let you choose a color of a RGB palette.

6. You can see it working here:

I gotta hand it to you, you put together a bad a$$ screenlet here! It's a shame I can't open it though, running ubuntu ultimate 1.8 screenlets 0.1.2. watermarks v0.31. when I fire up the screenlet manager and double click watermark it doesn't open or do anything, no error messages and yet another funny thing is that I'm able to open other screenlets, I thought it was the way that I installed the file but I have probably been through these steps for more then 5 times now, any suggestions?

Hello,

thanks for this great screenlet.

i've two problems with 1.31 release:

1/ "System Information" can't get my Gnome version.
i use Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 with Gnome 2.24.1

2/ "Top Processes" has problem when process name is too long, it don't add new line to show the entire process name and the text is not readable.

otherwise it's a great screenlet and maybe the most useful for me, thanks again ;)

Regards,
Mobidyc

Cleen Ubuntu 8.10 Installation, Screenlets 0.1.2
Watermark 0.31

All instances set to keep below. After every restart all instances are set to both: keep below AND keep above. Behavior is keep above.

Strange: On rightklick in Contextmenu - Window "keep above" is not checked!

Hi,
first of all, thx for the great screenlet!
I noticed a little bug in the battery meter: when the battery is fully charged, I used to read something between 106% and 109% (depending on the capacity of the battery). I fixed the problem the "burtal way" by adding

testedload=load
if testedload>100:
testedload=100

after line 2268. This might be a Battery specific issue (I'm on a Inspiron 1720, battery model is "Dell NR2227").
Cheers, smani

Hi,

first of all: It's a great screenlet - i love it.

But there is a Bug that is not very nice.

I use two TFT in twinview-mode (NVIDIA). I have placed all watermark (Clock, CPU, 4xHDD, System-Info, GPU and HDD temp) on the right TFT. It ist sonthing about pixel 2390.

And everytime when i start the computer all watermark-screenlets are placed on the right border of the left (the main) TFT.
Except the System-Info. This one is placed at the diffined place on the right border of the right TFT.

I have tried to set the config-files only readable. No effect.

Is there any solution for that bug?

bye...

I had exactly the same issue.
However, this is not a problem with the screenlet, but with screenlets framwork.
Just update to the last version to fix this issue. Look here for the last version: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Screenlets+0.1.2?content=82586
