This is highly customizable dockbarx(dockx) theme. You can modified all colors trough dockbarx preferences dialog. To install theme unzip archive to ~/.dockbarx folder. This theme is optimized for dock size 40 px. Icons used in screenshot are ACYL with color #555555.

So you can chose the button to the style of your theme. Just put the path in your configuration editor at apps-panel-objects to the target of your start button. I include just one sample for Ubuntu but can use it for any distri :) Have fun So I include 3 more styled buttons ;)

i made this myself just for me so maybe it isn't so tied up.. there are five new icons for available, away, invisible, offline and banned indicators. install * extract folders from archive * move them to /usr/share/pixmaps/pidgin/ (u need be a root) sorry for my bad english
