I put together GNOME logo with Ubuntu header using GIMP. Hopefully, it will not be too plain for you.

copy to /boot/grub folder edit ur grub.conf file splash.xpm.gz -> 1.xpm.gz

put 1.xpm.gz in /boot/grub and change grub.conf line splash.xpm.gz -> 1.xpm.gz
