A newcomer's first attempt at creating a KDE splash screen: the KDE badge comes from the KDE site, and the Gentoo logo likewise. Active bar icons come from Gentoo's icons link on their homepage. Any and all comments, suggestions, etc. are welcomed.

This is just a mix of the picture at kernel.crashing.org and the normal KDE splash screen. Modify as you like! Untar it into your home directory or or copy the contents to /usr/share/apps/kplash/pics/ Thanks to the linux ppc people and KDE ! And have fun!

For pessimistic personalities Just copy the gimp-splash.png to the folder where your current gimp splash is Mine (I use Debian) is /usr/share/gimp/2.0/images. You may want to backup your existing splash screen.
