Homosapien Metacity Customizer 0.4.5
Metacity Themes
Score 72%
Description:

This is a Metacity theme based on the Homosapien mockup done by 0rAX0.

This theme now has a online customization tool (called Customizer - link below) that allows you to tweak the theme to *your* liking which you then download and install.

A special thanks to 0rAX0's for his amazing mockup, without it I wouldn't have been able to do this.

See 0rAX0's original mockup at http://0rax0.deviantart.com/art/Homosapien-mockup-152444481

P.S. Made for use with the Human theme.

v0.1
Created Customizer

The Customizer is an online customization tool that allows you to tweak the base Homosapien theme to *your* liking which you then download and install.

Want a smaller titlebar or how about a bigger one... no problem.

Want the menu icon to be that orange dot again or maybe just stick with the application icon... no problem.

Want to define the theme color independent of your system/gtk color or maybe just stick to matching your system/gtk color... no problem.

Hate those rounded bottom corners... no problem just turn them off.

If there is enough interest I'll look at adding more options like:
- buttons on the left like osx
- switch between different sets of buttons
- add a colored border (like the Homosapien 2 mockups)
- your suggestions

Please let me know what you think by adding a comment below.

I'm very glad you have corrected the problem of the buttons as well as 3 types of size of the subject, which solves the problem of a will, more and more small. But it is not necessary to use "(when only the close button is showing) only works when using metacity (not compiz)" since it only works in metacity, and also the problem of the buttons "Show rounded corners to maximize button just when paired with close (ie max and close) - support for rounded corners on the close button "has been resolved and is the best. Excellent work.
Sorry my bad English.

I apologize but I noticed that the close button "only" does not work as in metacity, compiz appears in the cut. It's the only problem (in compiz), but maybe someone can help fix the problem, yet the work done in this theme is fantastic.

I really like this theme & it certainly deserves the praise it is getting here as well as on blogs & websites at the moment.

What I would love to see, though, is a version with buttons set to the left side of the window. Some of us have switched to this Macish window-buttons orientation & it would be sad to leave those of us out in the rain...

Please consider creating a left-sided metacity version, too. Thank you!

I really apreciate your work and effort to enhance this theme, but i still prefer the old metacity buttons. I would like to suggest the brown color variation used on this Homosapien modification.

Congratulations for this awesome theme and i really hope to see this on lucid.

+1 to preferring the old metacity buttons.

Still a great theme, though, and I would also like to see it in Lucid.

I think one good improvement for this theme could be to add a different decoration for windows recognized as utility, as by example the Gimp tool windows.
Clearlooks uses a miniature and un-rounded version of the theme to represent that, and it looks good !

could you please make it as small as eHomosapien? even though i like this theme better, in my opinion that metacity has the perfect size.

This theme is getting better, but what is missing is the white line at the top of the window, as it was in earlier versions.
Excellent work.

Yes you mean the titlebar-outlines. They disappeared since version 0.7. They made the theme very modern. I hope they will come back.

i think you should put the older version available to download with a proper name (thick titlebar or something) displayed to keep everyone happy.

Now that the latest version includes small, medium and large variations everyone should be happy :-)

i like better the thicker titlebar from previous versions, thus keeping the older version of this theme.

"I found the title-bar a little to tall. If you could make it smaller, it will save some room for the content of the window itself. Just let 2 pixel over and 2 pixel under the buttons, and it'll be perfect, I think."

complete agree. especially if you want to use this on netbooks.

can you make one with smaller title bar (buttons reduced too)?

and, of course, thank you for your effort and work. congratulations its one of the best themes around.

This is the second time i have to say that this is an absolutely great theme, which is, from now on, my standard theme.

Fits very well into my Gnome-Shell Test-Environment, too!

Thanks for that absolutely great work!!

I think with the titlebar outlines it looked much much better and modern. since v0.7 it seems to simple. the outlines made gave the theme a look that was very different from the default metacity. any chance for a comeback of that sexy outlines?

Actually I think what your seeing could be a compiz bug. Try looking at the same windows but using metacity (not compiz) to see the difference. From what I've seen while testing compiz seems to get a few other (albeit minor things) wrong when compared to metacity.

Have a look at http://www.zacbarton.com/metacity_vs_compiz.png to see what i mean.
