What TRUE LINUX GEEK in their right mind would make Linux look like OS X? I'll tell you, NONE!

This is very disrespectful to Linux the people that make it look like OS X and Windows. You have no clue then to what Linux is and what it's roots are and what it represents...

If you love the look so much then please buy an Apple, to help further support the destruction of computer user's rights...

Apple and Windows STRIP the rights of Computer users, which you seem to have no clue about and if think it's BS then you are not a very educated computer user!

If you had a CLUE of the destructiveness of Apple, you'd never make a theme like OS X!

WTF?!

What do you talkin' about?! Relax.

I have MacBook and iPhone too, and the world still exists :P

PS.
I think, I love Linux more that you can imagine.

Then not use it, that's the solution for you, don't insult the good free work from others just because you don't like it. Live life in peace my friend.

Hi Bagley,
I am great admirer of your work and please don't pay attention to such comments.
A linux user definitely won't mind to change the theme of it's desktop to Mac or Windows or anything else.

According to me, your work shows how Linux is better than others.
Please keep up the good work.

Hey there! first of all, absolutely tremendous work there! had a friend coming over yesterday saying "Hey dude, didn´t know you changed to Mac..." xD

Anyway, my problem is: the application menu (or main menu) is not where it should be at the left end of the top panel, but instead somewhere in the middle. When I use different screens the position error doesn't seem to be relative, which means the distance from the panel's left end to the menu doesn't change.
Any ideas why this is so??

Apart from that, there is another question concerning the app. menu: I know how to undo the global menu thing, but how can I switch back to normal, ubuntu-style main menu ("applications//places//system") without uninstalling the theme altogether?

Thx for any help n advice!

Report

Ok, strange enough, after deleting the menu-button and the global menu part I could add normal ubuntu like menus and global menu while suddenly being able to move them around...

Hi,i've restart my PC and everything comes right. I wonder if anyone want this bright theme, i can share it for anyone who need :)

The theme color is exactly the same as in MacOSX. MacOSX has a different color palette, and therefore looks different. I do not know how to change the palette and if at all possible.

In Macbuntu SVN there is a newer version of the theme (based as always on GTK Leopard), you can download it in this way

svn co https://macbuntu.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/macbuntu/Macbuntu/themes/Macbuntu ~/macbuntu-svn/Macbuntu/themes/Macbuntu

It looks like this http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/macbuntu/index.php?title=Main_Page

Hi barley, thanks for advice. I will make some try on this, but in Nautilus elementary, some icons were missing, so the view select button group look very ugly, I thinks we must put some icon to somewhere to fix this

Hi everyone, I've just tried Macbuntu yesterday and very excited with this themepack, but a little thing i do not accept is the theme color is so dark, and I want it look brighter such as Snow leopard.
I used Gimp to edit brighness of some file in ~/.themes/Macbuntu and everythings almost came right. But a little problem remained is a dark line between title bar and toolbar. So anyone can tell me how to fix this, i had try to edit many file in Macbuntu folder but problem still remain. I has attached the screenshot here for easy to understand, sorry for my bad English skill

Hi.

Great theme, I use it as default in my desktop and laptop.

I have one question though... I install it in my laptop, installation verifies for root privileges and asks me for my password.

Once it is installed in the system, I want to make another user in the same laptop look the same, but the other user does not have sudo privileges.

I (I am the administrator) want to install it in the system, and I wan to make other users (non administrators) look like this.

Thanks in advance... great transformation pack!

Once it is installed on the system any user can use the theme you need only to select it by right clicking on the background after they have logged in and selecting "Change Desktop Background" and then tab to "Themes" and select Macbuntu!

Love the theme!

Thank you for the tip.

I found it right where you said. Unfortunately, it only replaces the skin, and the icons, menus, and effects remain the same.

What I did was: grant the user admin privileges temporarily, and installed from inside the user, and then removed the admin privileges to the user.

Now working perfectly in both users in my laptop.

By far, the best theme I've seen for linux.

Some people even ask me how did I turn my laptop into a mac.

Until a new refreshing look for gnome arrives, this a must have.

Thank you very much!

Hi it's really a great work. I installed the last version yesterday and everything seems to be working. But I had 4 workspaces and a cube animation when I change from one to another now I don't have the possibility also I want to add other things to docky but the things to add aren't that much such as the workSpace exchanger for example.

Thank you for this great work and I hope that you can help me fixing that.

Great! Very smart work!
And i have some troubles need you help.
after installed Macbuntu,my "places" & "system" item in top left were both gone! More than that, the bottom panel dispeared.
I know that Mac use docky, and i don't like it. I prefer ubuntu's style,"places" & "system" item in top Panel, "desktop" "trash" "4 windows" in bottom Panel. By this style, when i minimize windows or browsers, they are stacked on the bottom panel, I prefer this easy way to look up.
How can i rescue that? Thank you for ur help! PS:Sorry for my poor English,I wish you can get my idea.

Troubles are fixed! Macbuntu is very awesome!
Hope next version have two different version, one is change your preferences and install docky, another one is just give users a mac-like theme, won't change your other things. Such as install docky and delete bottom panel.
It's a good work,keep going!
