[ FAQ ]

question: the buttons for the window border being on the left,
is that a theme thing or can that be configured somewhere?

Answer: ( original tutorial by -fissy. )

using the "run program" action or a terminal, start gconf by typing:

gconf-editor

and hitting enter.

This program is a bit like the registry editor for windows.

In the tree on the left you need to go to /apps/metacity/general/

There is then a key in the right pane called "button_layout"

edit this key so that it reads:

CODE
close,minimize,maximize:menu

or
CODE
close,maximize,minimize:menu

enjoy!

Hello!
Thank you for the great theme. I have one question: at mouseover at text of radiobuttons, drop-downs, and also unfocused taskbar-items the text is white on light-grey background, so you cannot read anything. How can I change this?
Thanks & best regards
Pete

it's in ~/.themes/MacOS-X/gtk-2.0/gtkrc.

in style "default" section, change the
fg[PRELIGHT] properties to anything other than {1.00, 1.00, 1.00}. Closer to 0.0, the darker the font is.

Hi, I followed the same steps you mentioned above with SuSE 9.1 and Ubuntu. Both works fine. Thank you for the great theme.

Great mimic. I feel like I'm in Mac's environment running great OpenSource GTK apps. Best of both worlds.

Now to find a firefox theme.

How did you do your icons on the toolbar? I would like a good wireless app.

hie, I dont' understood how i can install the theme MacOS-X, I untar the tar.gz after download,

I put it in the ~/.themes folder, but the theme doesn't work, so, there is no problemes with icons.

if no, for the tool bar, you can run "superkaramba" and find "tuxbar": this is a dock.

Hi,

Everything works great for me and I'm not about to bug you about releasing the top menu bar program. However, I'm wondering where did u get the icons in your screenshot. The ones you've included aren't of very high resolution.

Secondly, my StarterBar has a black outline with some shadow on it. Yours seems to be white. How did you change it?

Thanks a bunch!

All,
With this theme i notice that the text on the buttons disappear once u hover on it with the mouse. This is especially true for the menu panel

Can someone help fix this. I am using gnome 2.8.

Other than this, this is an awesome theme.
thanks

This was the best theme I've used in Linux so far, stunning look and excellent feel. The only thing I want to change is the internet explorer icon. But it might be the right choice in some situations.

Nice job! The only problem that I found (using gnome 2.6 on FC2) is that some highlighting changes text to white. If background is also light in color the text seems to disappear. In the link below, if I hover over the button on the left the text will "disappear" but hovering over the button on the right is ok when text turns white because the background is blue. http://ke5in.com/ScreenClip.php Which file and attribute should I edit to change the highlighting color from white to, say, a light gray?

For some reason pgadmin3 and this theme are not compatible. (On fc2 w/ gnome 2.6)
But I have not seen any problems with other apps so this might be a problem with pgadmin3. Overall this theme is terrific!

--------------------------------------------------
[ke5in@localhost ke5in]$ pgadmin3

** (pgadmin3:7807): WARNING **: Invalid borders specified for theme pixmap:
/home/ke5in/.themes/MacOS-X/gtk-2.0/entry2.png,
borders don't fit within the image
Segmentation fault
--------------------------------------------------
I tried hacking the borders for entry2 in gtk-2.0/gtkrc but could not find settings that pgadmin3 liked.
My work around was to comment out the entire section :(
# image
# {
# function = FLAT_BOX
# recolorable = TRUE
# state = INSENSITIVE
# detail = "entry_bg"
# file = "entry2.png"
# border = { 3, 3, 3, 3 }
# stretch = TRUE
# }

Nice theme. Good work.
Still, the bottom border in the tabs (gnome-terminal etc.) are too thick which obscures the tab title.
Another, when you mouse over on the program titles (inactive) in taskbar the font is white and basically you dont see anything.
