[ FAQ ]

question: the buttons for the window border being on the left,
is that a theme thing or can that be configured somewhere?

Answer: ( original tutorial by -fissy. )

using the "run program" action or a terminal, start gconf by typing:

gconf-editor

and hitting enter.

This program is a bit like the registry editor for windows.

In the tree on the left you need to go to /apps/metacity/general/

There is then a key in the right pane called "button_layout"

edit this key so that it reads:

CODE
close,minimize,maximize:menu

or
CODE
close,maximize,minimize:menu

enjoy!

Hi Danny:
Great job from Taiwan. It works both desktop and icons on my FC2. I am only wonder how you make the bottom panel work like the MacOS effect. Can you show me how? Thanks!

Just a note. The topic and input boxes background on xchat2 turns white with this theme. I can't seem to change that. Any workaround?

Report

That's an x-chat thing. You have to go to the colors tab in the preferences, change it to a color you CAN see in the text box, then uncheck the "input box uses xchat colors" selection. The you can change the foregraoud color back to whatever it was. I've been having to do this since x-chat on RedHat 7.3.

Not really. That doesn't work here. And believe, I tryed. I finally resolved the problem by changing ,themes/MacOS-X/gtk-2.0/gtkrc .

In the end, style default ended up like this:
style "default"
{
bg_pixmap[NORMAL] = "background.png"
}
class "GtkWidget" style "default"

but it solves the problem and I like it this way.

Cheers

Hi, I just installed your theme in my machine and it works great. I`m on an iBook using YellowDog Linux 3 and Gnome 2.2 (downloadin` Gnome 2.6)

Ahh please post the sources for your menubar program and when you do tell us where did you put them on.

P.D: Yes, I`m runnin` Linux on a Macintosh computer. It`s cause I got a quite old Mac that barelly runs OSX and that is if you install it through a program called X-postfacto which allows OSX to run on older unsupported Macs.

I downloaded that same icon set and they are work just fine. But... hmm, they are too little :/ YEP Unfortunately they have poor resolution. On my desktop (1280x1024) they look relly bad :/ I expected better resolution. Please change that. Gretz
