I happened to deal with this issue before, but it was kind of a "quick fix"

I'll patch it for good this time

thanks for re-pointing this out and for using our theme!

v0.9.5 fixes this issue, nonetheless other stuff turns black in GTK2 apps. It will be dealt with in the next release.

Just dropped in to say that my enthusiasm concerning the theme hasn't diminished at all.

It does what it's been conceived for and does it well.

Choose whatever you may think of Windows, this certainly makes for a stunning Linux theme. FYI I used the script provided, and have had no issues whatsoever so far. Thank you for this excellent package. :)

Hi CM,

Let me address a word of appreciation. It's awesome that you're continuously improve the theme. Now it's got a lot easier to install. It makes sense 'cause it's a transfo pack. Thanks again.

Best regards,
Cinnamoner

Have you tried it? How did it behave?

I'm sorry but my answer will be disappointing. My Windows machine went down with something and I've spent a lot of time dealing with the problem. I think I'm gonna clone the drive 'cause I don't wanna go nuts with fresh installs. So I haven't really had the time to experiment with the installer but I will, as soon as possible. I intend to cross over to Linux for good. Windows drives me crazy. I'm following with great interest the evolution of the transfo pack and I'll check how it behaves pretty soon ... all my comments on it were from a theoretical standpoint, not as a result of hands on experience.

PS: For what it's worth, I admit that my commenting on the installer, without prior hands on experience with it and simply based on assumptions, was (at least) inadequate. But since you addressed the question, I had to give a straight answer.

Hi,

Seems like a good idea. It makes it easy. Might come in handy for some. Personally, I don't need it. But thanks anyways.

I tried the iconized taskbar applet, and it is very buggy. Is there anything like that, but preferably more stable?

Report

elbullazul

I don't think there are other app grouping applets out there if the original runs buggy on your system.

The latest code available on GitHub is much more stable than the one that is downloadable, though it's got some weird kinks to it still. Though, it is definitely more usable. Thanks so much for this awesome theme! It is perfect (besides the XP style power / logoff buttons.

Hi there,

The theme itself is very neat. I'm sure it'll be nicely completed by some other things that go into an "all-inclusive".

I might be wrong but it seems you haven't provided a checksum for it.

nope, I haven't yet included it fully in the pack. I guess next release will integrate it fully, maybe with the Fluxbox style I plan on releasing too...

I've been wondering about fluxbox. I guess I don't have to wonder about it any longer.

Hi there,

I've been seeing your "for obvious security reasons" a lot. And I feel the need to bring some clarity into it once more (and for the last time).
1. A piece of code can be voluntarily altered by a third party, possibly with malicious intent. This is a security issue.
2. Apiece of code can corrupt accidentally (e.g. during download). This is a consistency issue.
Both aspect are equally important.
Furthermore it is still possible for two different files to have the same checksum. But the odds for such an event (collision) to occur are astronomically low. Like once in a trillion or beyond.
As a matter of fact things have the tendency to repeat after the first trillion. Your and my genetic makeup included. That's all.
So cheksumming involves 2 aspects: security and consistency.

Thank you for moving the files to GitHub, just that I wanted it so people could use scripts if they wanted to automatically download the files to the appropriate directories. Once again, thanks from feren. And now feren OS won't look weird when you try to apply the Windows 10 theme...
