1/6/2017: some bug fixes

Hi there,

I've been seeing your "for obvious security reasons" a lot. And I feel the need to bring some clarity into it once more (and for the last time).
1. A piece of code can be voluntarily altered by a third party, possibly with malicious intent. This is a security issue.
2. Apiece of code can corrupt accidentally (e.g. during download). This is a consistency issue.
Both aspect are equally important.
Furthermore it is still possible for two different files to have the same checksum. But the odds for such an event (collision) to occur are astronomically low. Like once in a trillion or beyond.
As a matter of fact things have the tendency to repeat after the first trillion. Your and my genetic makeup included. That's all.
So cheksumming involves 2 aspects: security and consistency.

I noticed the change: "For security and file integrity reasons". Much better. Thanks.

Thank you for moving the files to GitHub, just that I wanted it so people could use scripts if they wanted to automatically download the files to the appropriate directories. Once again, thanks from feren. And now feren OS won't look weird when you try to apply the Windows 10 theme...

Hi Feren,

Waiting for the next FerenOS. Pretty bold endeavor trying to unify so many eclectic elements. Wish you the best.

Hi there,

My enthusiasm with this theme hasn't diminished a bit. Quite on the contrary.
By the way, what's your favorite DE, CM? Just wanna know your top 3.

Thanks

So all in all Git is an awesome tool. Like no other.

Maybe it should be split up into different DEs. Increasingly difficult to follow.

NO NEED TO SPLIT IT (I'm an idiot)

1. Splitting an already complex project would make it virtually unmanageable.

2. One can always find out whether a particular release is relevant or not for him/herself simply by checking the branch of favorite DE on Git. For example, I can tell that the last release in which Cinnamon was updated is 0.8.2 (although no clear reference appears in change log). The best change log is the code itself and Git makes that easy. One can even pinpoint the line. Just wondering how can you put up with a caveman like myself.

Hi again CM,

Please confirm with simple yes/no that the latest release in which Cinnamon has been updated is indeed 0.8.2. I wanna make sure that I'm no caveman anymore (at least in that respect). Thanks.

It is important for my ego to be sure that I'm no caveman. So plz ...

I'm considering to change my username into Caveman (hope it's not taken). It all depends on your answer.

I don't remember any changes to the cinnamon.css file, except maybe color fixes that I didn't list or changing an image or something.

Oficcially, v0.8.1 has the latest fixes for Cinnamon

Yeah, some color change in the .css file. That was it. Thanks.

Hello W10 Theme Lovers,

It's been a very prolific year in Linux world and the theme we love has been a major part of it. It's just astonishing how far it's evolved in such a short span of time.
The year to come will bring a new LTS and many more novelties. I also have great expectations from the W10 theme and It's my conviction that it will be up to the challenges ahead.
I wish you all a Happy New Year!

Hi Moihack,

Congrats for your spin. Definitely in my top 5. That means a lot 'cause I only go for the "creme de la creme". I wonder whether you would consider spinning a Cinnamon equivalent as well.
I wish you a happy and fruitful New Year.

Hello Everyone,

Just dropped in to wish a heartfelt Merry Christmas to You All and address a thank you for your contributions (no matter how big or small) to the development of the theme.

And, of course, a big hand of applause to the developer for the truly remarkable achievement.

Occupied days in the calendar (GNOME Shell) are still black on black background; I can't read what day I'm busy :/

Hi guys,

Please consider voting up, I think some users hare voting us down just because of "windows"

thanks,

If they voted down, I hope they got at least a kick out of it. It takes so little brainpower to vote a theme down.
