Description:

Like Jet Fighters and Punching.
This release is loaded will all kinds of whoopass. This is that next level that shows why elementary is different from the competition. More and better monochromes, more and better mimetypes, more and better apps. Not to mention this release marks the start of an effort to have every icon from 16px to 128px

As always, Donations much appreciated.

Ubuntu 10.04 - GNOME

Great job here...
But tell me: are you planning to develop also a monochrome version for dark pannels?

I see that your elementary icon set has icons for Open Document Text (.odt) and Open Document Spreadsheet (.ods) files, but no icon for Open Document Presentation (.odp) files?

it would be nice to see a google chrome icon in this, seriously. By the way, best icon theme actually.

Ok dude, I got it now, thanks for your answer!

By the way, I have a suggestion: what do you think of making the control buttons like arrows, play, pause, and so on, in grayscale instead of color? Like these (or even better):

http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/773/screenshot071.png

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/9421/screenshot072.png

I didn't change any icon, what I did was just taking a snapshot and change it to grayscale with Gimp. Maybe like metal or something.

Peace man!

I was playing around with doing some monochrome player controls for this release. The big problem is that it doesn't look the good or even the same in every application. So, it has to be a per-app kind of thing. In this way, I've included some of these per-app icon customizations in the next version of my GTK theme instead of the icon theme.

That's great man! Thanks a lot! I will be waiting for your next GTK theme XD.

By the way, I've been reading an article in Gnome-Art and also have been trying to make an icon theme on my own (first, just copying icons and renaming them) and it's pretty hard... it's not even done =S.

I appreciate your awesome work man. I'll keep an eye (was that well said?) on every release you make.

Peace! XD

Dude,

I want to buy the Elementary Monochrome icons, but I can't use my debit card with Pay Pal... is there any other way I can buy it? They look awesome!

Report

C

DanRabbit

You don't *have* to buy them ;) That link is just a direct download so that you don't have to go through my DeviantArt page (which is the first link).

But, generally, I would recommend you check out the latest version from bzr by opening up terminal and typing "bzr branch lp:elementaryicons"

These are icons are just so... lickable! :D Keep them coming, they're absolutely amazing.

Suggestions:
- Deluge needs go-top and go-bottom in size 16. As it is now, they're a bit blurry.
- F-Spot could use an elementary icon.

Oh, and a better looking weather-fog icon to replace the ugly square one in the GNOME icon set.

I like your icons, and i use it, but i want to change the start-menu icon, how can i do this?

Report

C

DanRabbit

You must go into wherever you installed the theme and go to "places" and find "distributor-logo.svg" in each of the folders. Change that image with whatever image you want to use instead.

Frakin' amazing. Just add all 32pix application icons, because in openSUSE application browser it looks blurry.

DanRabbit,

Is there a way to have different colored folders? I like folders that are more generic, like manila colored folders because they go with every color palate. Is there an easy way of doing this? Or would I have to manually change each folder icon?

Report

C

DanRabbit

You'd have to go through and modify every icon that has a folder in it manually.

I imagine you intentionally wanted the monochrome icons to look sort of embossed. As a result, they look like crap on a dark panel! Yeah, they look nice on a light panel but you could've made them neutral so that they look nice on either a dark or light panel.
