elementary Icons

Score 79%
Description:

Like Jet Fighters and Punching.
This release is loaded will all kinds of whoopass. This is that next level that shows why elementary is different from the competition. More and better monochromes, more and better mimetypes, more and better apps. Not to mention this release marks the start of an effort to have every icon from 16px to 128px

As always, Donations much appreciated.

Ah, You know what? People have reported problems with PCManFM before. I believe it has something to do with the way it handles symlinks.

For now, supported File Browsers are Nautilus and Thunar ;)

I'm sorry, i didn't notice that.
I use PCManFM on LXDE desktop, and on this, there are some icons missing too (menu categories per exemple).

But, that's ok, i hope for new versions to test here again.

Thanks. :D

I had been using Shiki Colours for so long I forgot how good these looked. Now back to this set.

There's only a few icons that aren't my favs, like the volume notification icon (which looks hella old school/dated).

I notice that if you enlarge the panel to around 28 then the volume icon changes to a better looking one. Is that intended?

(Oh, and I meant Gnome Colours.)

It's just inherited from the gnome icon theme, ATM. I'm working now on really trying to make monochrome icons work. So, we might see a monochrome one for the next release.

Hi Dan,

can you please provide an eclipse (Java Developement Environment www.eclipse.org) icon in next release?
Your theme is absolutely amazing! thank you for give us the possibility to have a nice workspace!

Very good icon set, but still a bit slow because it uses the power of SVG icon. Appearance is very professional, but slow. If we manage to reduce the size yet, replace the 16x16, 22x22, 24x24, 32x32 PNG icon format, then this icon set absolute best and you will be creative with the king of good taste. Sorry for bad English ....

Would it be possible to make the old elementary theme with light blue folders available for download? I think, it's 2.0.5 version. That one would fit well with my current wallpaper. Thanks.

Great icon set, but i am missing the an icon for the menu "system -> about ubuntu"

is this intentional, or is something wrong?

Hey guy,
well the folder icons are of course seen head on in this version...not too bad but ...but the color is much darker and there is a white smudge that looks to be an reflection or highlight.
the zip or package font is blurry..not quite a intense ..
the previous version 2.0.5 the folder icons were angled back and to the right..they were lighter in color ...the zip or package icons were clear and distinct..when I first installed this new version I actually thought I downloaded the wrong package :(
it just looks like an entirely different theme!
I dont think I can get used to these icons..I guess they look overworked to me..whereas the previous version was neat..clean..and very elegant.
I dont know how to explain it better without sounding too picky or downing your creation...I am not trying to do that at all... I just preferred the original look of the theme... I cant find any saved package ..although I must have it somewhere :)
but no.. I cant get used to these.. beautiful theme but not for me but thanks for listening ...sorry though ..if I cant find the 2.0.5 then I have to find another theme or create one :)

thanks again

Hey guy,
this 2.1 version is essentially a completely different theme altogether...
the 2.0.5 elementary could be its own theme and this renamed to something other than elementary...why not offer both?? :)

Hmm... I don't know if that's going to happen. I'm already trying to work with elementary and now Humanity and I don't feel that it would be advantageous to have a fork with such a similar styling.

However, if you want to fork. Feel free.

Really, I wish you would be more specific in what it is that you're unhappy with. Maybe that way, I can come back around to what you are looking for? I believe that I've stayed true to elementary's style and, although the new folders are very different from the previous ones, after you get used to the change you realize how much nicer they really are.

Well first thanks for responding :)
Yeah,, the previous icons were sleek,, suimple..elegant...these new ones to me are typical of what you get on gnome-look.. I preferred the previous version because of it's uniquiness as well as the other icons in that set...
I may have it stored somewhere ...I hope... I honestly dont like the new version at all... the icons look too common place ..
I have created themes for cairo dock using the previous set of icons and now it doesnt look as nice..
I understand many people will like these but they had been so nice from the beginning I thought they would not change in appearance anyway :)
thanks anyway... maybe I have a previous version as i said

I don't keep an archive of previous versions. I don't like looking back, only forward :D

I'm sorry that you're unhappy with the new icons. Is there anything in particular you don't like? I'm actually getting a lot of positive response about the new folders.

well I have used these icons for sometime now..but in all honesty...I dont like this new version...the folder icons are getting too fancy...the previous versions were perfect...

Incredible. My ideas for next release:

- Better rhytmbox taskbar icons (for playing/pause). I.e. Meliae icon theme uses simply play/pause buttons.
- Some kickass pidgin tray icons (You're icon designer genius - You'll figure something out:)
- better taskbar volume icon
- power manager has sweet icons, but the blue one with ac adaptor looks ugly - like a black dot on blue one. The blue color used for incadion of almost full battery is too dark.

And last but not least - PERFECT icon for OO Writer :) Sweet notebook - like in first grade in school :)

I really like the new folder icons. I hadn't checked out the Elementary icons for several releases. But it is looking better than I thought. Small and fast too!

One question: How do I change the icon for Banshee (music player)? It is usually in the 'Apps' folder and called media-player-banshee.png or .svg with other sets, but I can't find it.

Awesome release! Love to see more icons in more sizes.

The new folders are also beautiful, but shouldn't the smaller folders have the same design and perspective? It'd look much more consistent if either the small folders had no offset, or the large ones had a similar offset.
