Score 79%
Description:

Like Jet Fighters and Punching.
This release is loaded will all kinds of whoopass. This is that next level that shows why elementary is different from the competition. More and better monochromes, more and better mimetypes, more and better apps. Not to mention this release marks the start of an effort to have every icon from 16px to 128px

As always, Donations much appreciated.

haha, yes you are correct, they should have the same perspective. I haven't been able to draw something I'm completely happy with, however. So I've left it for now.

Same with the monitor icon. I know it needs to be replaced, but I can't draw anything that I really like.

I like the display icons, maybe just make them widescreen - most displays nowadays have a wide aspect ratio.

As for Pidgin icons, you might want to recolor them blue and use them for Empathy or submit them to the Empathy project as a patch. Pidgin hardcodes their own in titlebars/taskbars, and Jimmac is working on new, better looking ones anyway. On the other hand, Empathy only has a scalable version with all the smaller sizes being just scaled down, and considering many distributions are switching to empathy - better icons are a must. Your current pidgin icons are great, although the 16px size could look sharper and clearer like this:

I've got something a little better I'm working on. But I'm just not happy with the monitor stand.

Good point about Pidgin.

The next-gen GNOME icons are developed here:
http://git.gnome.org/cgit/gnome-icon-theme/tree/src?h=one-canvas

I'm sure you can get some ideas and sources regarding the monitor stands or anything else you might need to create display icons that'll satisfy you.

If the icons Elementary had a PPA in launchpad would be easier to clean and update the package for Ubuntu users.

Congratulations of this beautiful icon theme!

Usually the network icon is a two computer icons. This theme seems to use the default gnome network icon which make things a little inconsistent.

Other then that, great theme. This is one of my favorites.

Do you know the name of the icon in question? Or can I get a screenshot of what the problem is?

Report

Its the 'wired network connection' icon in the notification area of the sys tray. I took a screenshot of what I'm describing, but I don't see how to add it in this post.

Report

DanRabbit

And, the problem is that you don't want it to use the two-computer icon?

Report

klemperal

No, the problem is that network icon in the system tray doesn't match the computer icon. if you tell me how to post a screenshot on here I'd be happy to show you what I'm describing.

VERY easy to install! no need to sudo nautilus and copy to icons. just double click on the .deb and click install. BANG!
when i was new to linux i was always confused how to install icons. i had to learn it the hard way. if i would have found this theme, i would not have been frustrated.

ubuntu suspend icon is still missing. it's really annoying me.

Report

jesterthejedi

sudo ln -sf sleep.png suspend.png
sudo ln -sf sleep.png system-suspend.png

run that in the actions folder, and assuming there is a valid sleep.png icon it will create the valid links needed. See my icon theme Mashup if you need any visual confirmation of how its named.

I just closed this ticket like a day before you posted this :)

The bug fix will be in the next release.

I really like it. i'm using it right now, but the suspend icon is messing on ubuntu. are you aware of that?

Report

DanRabbit

Yea, now that you point that out, I see it. I'm not sure what's causing it, though. I'll look into it.

This is a very nice-looking and complete icon theme. Good work!

One suggestion I would make is to move toward less saturated colors, especially in action buttons. Most notably, it seems like the bright green, blue, and red media control buttons draw far too much attention to themselves. A soft gray would work very well for those icons.

Thanks for you work on this icon theme. I will probably be using it for a while to come.

I can tell you put in a lot of good work with this icon theme. It's really good, maybe even change the name to Evolution! Best of luck with this set, I can see why its the top on Gnome-Look.

Report

I'm glad you like it :)

I'm not sure where you see it as being #1 on Gnome-Look though :p
