Description:

Like Jet Fighters and Punching.
This release is loaded will all kinds of whoopass. This is that next level that shows why elementary is different from the competition. More and better monochromes, more and better mimetypes, more and better apps. Not to mention this release marks the start of an effort to have every icon from 16px to 128px

As always, Donations much appreciated.

Okay, that doesn't sound bad.

I have my zoom set to 150% by default too :p

If the problem persists, try opening up the theme index file and do a search and replace for "Scalable" make sure you match the case! and replace it with "Fixed"

and see if that changes anything for you.

It has to be some kind of configuration problem. There was a guy who had the same problem, and he fixed it, but he never posted what he did :(

I am sure I am just doing something wrong, but all my folders are tiny.

I dragged and dropped the tar.gz file to my Appearance screen - no problem - and I also dropped the extracted folder to /usr/share/icons

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Thank you.

sounds right to me. Did you try re-downloading the archive and re-installing?

I always suggest using the latest distro, but I'm not sure why that would affect your icon size.

Did you check to see what the default zoom level in nautilus is?

I had the same problem,I figured it out.Edit the index.theme file and at section [48x48/places] the size is set to 256.Change that to 48 and you are set.

Maybe this should also be altered in the original file.

Thanks nstamoul,

I actually started using a different icon theme, but I keep my eye on the project ;)

Now that there is a .deb package I'll have to try it out again.

great update! you might want to try working with 22x22 icons instead of 24x24. That way, you can then just run a command similar to "find . -name "*.png" -execdir convert -bordercolor Transparent -border 1x1 "{}" "{}" \;" to add a 1px border and create 24x24 icons. That way you can include both resolutions easily, and your icons will look crystal clear no matter what.

I have no idea what you just said :)

If you want to do it, though. feel free

One thing that I really want for elementary 2.0 is to make as many icons in .SVG format as possible, and not use PNG. I want a truly very open icon set. That way I don't have to distribute the sources separately, either. It's all right there.

I like this theme (even if i'd like it more if it was orange and not light blue), I think you have made an excellent work. There's a little thing I don't like, it's the start-menu icon: i'd like to have my default ubuntu logo (or an ubuntu logo in your theme). I tried to delete all start-menu, novell-button and gnome-main-menu images in ./icons/elementary folders and I also restarted the session but your logo still remains. What I missed to do?
I think it's a good choice to leave the default distro logo (whatever it is) as start-menu icon, but it's only my taste.

Try going to /16x16/places /22x22/places /24x24/places 32x32/places and so on. Make sure that you get rid of it in ALL of those folders.

then in the index.theme file under inherits. add 'Human' before 'gnome'

that should get you the Ubuntu icon.

Your icons are excellent, they look incredibly professional and look good with any colour scheme.

I love the music player icon!

I'm glad we're meeting our goals. If you like this one, you'll LOVE the next release. I'm almost through with my ground-up revision of the mimetypes folder and I have to say it looks SO much better than 1.x

I'm pretty excited for it :D

Thanks.
I just got done installing 1.9 and am wondering what the icon that replaced the Gnome Foot is supposed to be?

Anyway, as always your work is stellar, thanks loads for a very high quality icon theme.

I've been using this icon theme for a while now and am very interested in the alternate colored folders. Unfortunately, none are a complete replacement for the default ones since they can only replace the 256x256 version of folder.png and folder_accept.png. Do you have any plans to provide versions for all of the folder-based places icons for each size?

We'll see what happens in 2.0
Right now, the goal is not to use 256x256 pngs at all anymore. So, with the folders going the way of SVG, it'll be a lot easier to do some recoloring. If not all the colors, I'll at least do the gray ones. They seem to be pretty popular :)

Elementary project is nice.... I think it is so good that it should be Gnome or Ubuntu default look :)

Report

Well strange, but according to the icons, it should be changing, but it never changes for me. According to the icons at 38%, it should only show 2 bars, but for me, it never changes to anything other than 3 bars.

Report

FuturePilot

Ok, I think I found the oddity. The applet "Network Monitor" correctly shows the signal change. I did get nm-applet to change, however it seems out of whack. At 24% it shows 2 bars, when according to the icon names, it should be showing 1. So it seems that nm-applet is out of whack with this icon set for some reason.

If you find out what is causing the problem, please let me know. I can only deal with this problem in theory, I can't really test it myself.

Hey there!
Nice job, I love the icon and metacity theme, yet there's one small problem (I know I'm very picky :)). Sometimes the network manager applet changes to the old four vertical bars design when the connection is lost for a short time. I started to copy the nm-signal-xx.svg as 22x22 pngs in the appropriate folder but didn't succeed. Any hints?

Cheers,
Flysh

I think I found the solution: the icon for a 0% connection was names nm-signal-0.png while it should be named nm-signal-00.png as in the default icon themes in Ubuntu Hardy...
