Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements by jimmy88 1778 comments
1. When window decoration is disabled (I do this via KWin configuration), and window is maximized, tabs are inaccessible at top of screen, i.e. you have to move cursor several pixels down to hit the tab. Annoys very much and isn't good from Fitts' law POV. And this doesn't happen with default theme.
2. Pseudo-rounded menus are ugly because of black borders. I'd prefer them being rectangle if it's not possible to use XShape or ARGB compositing.
3. Some widgets, e.g. tabs still don't look 100% Oxygen. Not sure if it's fundamental limitation, but I'd like to have this solved. - Dec 02 2012

Also, you could just install libgtk-3-dev - it has all the dependencies which cmake checks for, including libcairo2-dev and libx11-dev.
This might be not a good idea to put into INSTALL file, because the instructions generally depend on the distro. - Jun 09 2012

This is configured in panel properties, not in the theme.
> is it possible to copy $HOME/.config/oxygen-gtk from other system instead of installing kde to my system?
You can copy kdeglobals and oxygenrc from another system, these files *in KDE* are located in $HOME/.kde/share/config. - Oct 08 2011

Window decorations can't be themed by a GTK theme. You should either search for oxygen theme for your WM (in GNOME it's Metacity)(though for most of WMs it's not available) or you can install kwin, which does have such theme. Alternatively, you can use xfwm4 (will need to patch it first) and install kde47-oxygen theme for it.
> Also, how can I change the panel size to 20px
What panel do you mean?
> how can make the theme a little bit brighter?
This theme uses KDE settings files, or config files located in $HOME/.config/oxygen-gtk (which may not exist until you create ones, in which case default settings will be used) or in /usr/share/themes/oxygen-gtk/gtk-2.0, if KDE is not installed. You can try editing them, or installing systemsettings application from KDE. - Oct 07 2011

Hehe... recall what was until 1.0.2 with argb colormaps. This problem will reappear if we make oxygen-gtk transparent. There has to be another way for this... - Aug 22 2011

Yakuake Skins by Rendergraf 9 comments
Here's what could be improved:
1. Plus & Minus buttons should change icon color on hover to match Close & Focus button.
2. Close button's icon shouldn't become gray when pressed (see kwin's close button).
3. Selected tabs should have shadows as if light is above the screen, not "north-west" of it to match Oxygen. For examples see any toolbar toggle-buttons in e.g. Dolphin.
Also, if possible with current yakuake:
4. There should be prelight on non-selected tab buttons like on toolbuttons in Oxygen.
5. Would be nice if Focus button could be prelit when pressed.
Other than that, theme is really good. I'm using it by as default now :) - Aug 18 2011
What about using oxygen-molecule original files to make this theme more closely resemble real oxygen? Here's its page: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Oxygen-Molecule+KDE+%26+GTK%2B+unified+theme?content=103741 - Aug 11 2011

You can install kwin and use oxygen style with it.
Or, try this hack for xfwm4: http://xfce-look.org/content/show.php?content=123744 .
For other WMs oxygen isn't available yet. - Jul 11 2011

One feature i'd like to request: progress indication. It might be difficult to know total number of files until it's counted, but progress can be determined by computing total size of files scanned and compare it to disk usage.
It would be good to see a progress bar near count of files scanned. - Jun 28 2011

The decision to not merge this version with official was made not just to make the users curse the devs. It was because of technical problems AFAICT. You still can use this version instead of official one, what's the problem? - Jun 16 2011

You can work around it by removing (or renaming) libstdc++.so and libcairo.so files in libreoffice dir (usually /opt/libreoffice/.... - use find to locate them, but be careful to not remove system ones). - May 04 2011

startx /usr/bin/xterm
then start some non-xfce apps (e.g. GIMP) from xterm window, and suspend/resume after this?
Also, does using another WM than compiz fix the problem?
Does the problem exist for previous versions of oxygen-gtk (use "git reset --hard v1.0.0" to reset the tree to version 1.0.0 etc.) ?
Also, i'd like to see a screenshot of the distortions. - Mar 02 2011
