Hello all, I am happy to announce another release, 1.15. The major difference is that I have collated all the icons into one set. It was getting a bit hard to manage as multiple ones and the size increase is minimal. All the icons are in there, plus some new; by request some new mail actions (I think they need a bit more work but they're better), a new desktop icon that fits better with the theme and possibly a few others I've forgotten about. So, enjoy!

A MASSIVE thank you to Lars Gardmo for offering to host these icons. The first link is with Filecrunch though, I would urge you to try this first to save Mr Gardmo's bandwidth :)

This is the most comprehensive icon set for KDE. Not only does it take the best icon art and combine it into an attractive set, it also uses a fine balance of photo realism and simplicity to achieve a clear interface. The icon 'actions' folder contains nearly 300 icons designed with standardisation in mind and they are all created to take advantage of the higher screen modes in use today. All actions can now go up to 128x128! I would like to say a BIG thank you to all the artists who's original art work make this set possible. This is work in progress and I would ask for feedback from any users who would like to input to the project. Oh, and if you like it, remember to vote good :)

99% of this set is GPL now and what's not is most likely creative commons. PLEASE abide by the licence rules, if you use icons from this set please research and credit the appropriate people. I have been given permission to release other peoples art work under the GPL so respect the licence.

----------------Installation-------------

*You will need cookies enabled to download the sets.

Just download the archive, uncompress and copy to /usr/share/icons then choose OS-K icons from the KDE control center.

If you would like to change the 'kmenu' icon go into the 'actions' and 'apps' folder and remove '_YOURDISTRO' from the name, there are a couple of icons you need to do this too.

Cheers, I agree. I kinda wanted to suggest it was private but maybe the lock is not quite right. I will change it for the next release.

Icons set looks beautiful and the d/l link works fine albeit very slow. Will take me about 2 hours to download. If you want a good host, try filefactory, or badongo. But excelent work all the same

Try enabling cookies, that worked for him. The link was for the last version, that host won't let me upload over 100meg so no good for 1.1. A couple of people have kindly suggested others, so I will try and get another up soon.

Okay, I couldn't wait, so I downloaded the Kubuntu-set. I noticed, that you changes a lot of the icons (e.g. Konqueror). Is this only for Kubuntu or did you change the whole theme?

The icons in all the sets are the same except for a few disto specific icons such as 'adept' for Kubuntu or 'redhat-config' etc. in the Fedora set. Also the kmenu and go_kde icons are changed to match the distributions logos where as in the standard set they are the KDE logo.

I would like to get a build set up but unfortunately because of a few changes I have made (mainly due to larger actions) the script no longer works properly. When I have time to fix the script I will get a build set back up.

hm the site tells me to wait for some countdown and than it oopens the same page with the same countdon inside a frame...
no download button anywhere...

I recently added another mirror, does that work for you?

With regard to fixing it, there is nothing I can do. It works for me and most people. All I can do is find other places to host it, which I am trying to do. Maybe try a different browser?

oops sorry the mirror does work for me if i enable cookies.

although i wonder why you do not use communtiy sites like sf.net or berlios.de for hosting your files...
they offer plenty of mirrors and webspace and so on... and dont require cookies, special browsers or countdowntimers...

I dunno why, but none of these types of hosts work for me. It might be because we in SA go through a cache-proxy before going abroad (every single internet user goes through the same 3 servers).

This is all I get when I want to download the file:
"The page you are looking for is temporarily unavailable.
Please try again later."

Hi, thanks for the best icon set for KDE! (btw, I voted good ;)
I have two questions about the new 1.05 release: shouldn't the Gentoo package have the G (Gentoo logo) on the K menu button? And second, the Kopete "incoming message" icon doesn't work for me, I looked for it in the apps icons and I didn't find it.

Yup, I completely messed up with the Gentoo set! I have uploaded a new one (same link) which will have the 'G' for the kmenu - thanks for pointing it out.

With regards to the kopete icon, could you explain further? Where abouts on kopete does/should it appear?

Hi, this really appears as the best icon them for me. Thx a lot for it.

I was looking for quite a long time for some icon themes that are completely changing all kopete system tray icons. The only icon I missed in your theme is an icon for incoming message. It was an animated - rotating kopete icon before. Now using your icon theme, when new message comes, the sys tray kopete icon simply disappears.
