...but the checkboxes and radio buttons on the menus are barely visible because they are white.

I tried fiddling around with the gtkrc but unfortunately I do not seem to possess the arcane knowledge of gtk theming :)

I absolutely love this theme! It's the best I've ever seen!
That's why I'd like to give some feedback.

Problems:
- When I right-click on a panel item, the tick-marks are white, which isn't so nice on a grey background.
- When I don't use the system title bar in Chrome, I get some some graphic issues just to the right of the wrench menu.

Things to consider:
- A dedicated config utility would be handy with options like placement of window buttons (left/right).
- Make it possible to have the GNOME panels on the sides without the shading problems.

It would be great if someone could help me resolve my problems. If the tick-marks color can be changed with Gnome color chooser, please tell me which value I have to adjust.

Thank you!

Oh and Synaptic looks TERRIBLE!!

Synaptic looks terrible if you don't install the theme in /usr/share/themes.
Any program run as root doesn't have access to themes saved in ~/.themes

So just copy the theme to /usr/share/themes

There is something which irks me about the metacity theme, I think it just feels a bit too dark. However, overall I find this theme to be extremely fantastic.

It definitely needs a bit of work to completely match the mockup, but in my experiences I am not entirely certain if that is possible with GTK 2.x so I am not going to hold it against the theme. Not to mention it's at version 0.7, so it's not like there's a real claim that it's entirely finished.

However, what is here so far is excellent. Nice work. :)

Hey, love the theme!

I was hoping you could create a slightly modified version that would be more suitable to a "cleaner" look.

These features would be really cool:

1. remove the black borders around windows -- this includes the sides of the window. This looks unsightly to me. Hope other people agree (or you can make it a mod included in your download).

2. Remove the rounding from the bottom of windows. This makes the theme look less clean, imo.

3. This one is less serious, but darkening the window title a bit more would be very nice as well, imo.

4. Is there any way to put the application icon in the title, right next to the title? (to the left of it)

Hope you like my suggestions, and keep up the good work -- love the theme!

Along with osliner's radiance, this is my favorite from all the lucid mockups and themes.

I'll try lucid when first beta comes out. Does it ship with the latest murrine engine so i don't have to download the one you provide?

Yes, this theme will work on lucid out of the box.

Extract Lucidity-Chrome.tar.gz and inside the folder there will be a file called Lucidity.crx. Drag and drop this into google-chrome.

thx, I did that before, but something was wrong. Maybe there's a bug (I hadn't had installed latest chrome version previously), now everything is ok :)

Just wanted to pass this along; I've used your theme and Daniel Fiore's elementary theme/icons to work up my own theme. It's nothing fancy; it's purposely stripped down and simple to be easy on my eyes. Don't know if I'll do anything at all with it -- this is the first one I've ever showed off. But your Lucidity theme helped a lot.

Real nice theme. Good i have found it, after being depressed because of the new ubuntu theme :p
Hmmm what about pimping the tool-tips a little bit?

looks great, only one suggestion, maybe you could get round corners for the tooltips for the round version of lucidity.

Personaly i'm using the squared version...

Unfortunately, it is not currently possible to make rounded tooltips.

just finished installing the lucidity theme and it looks great :)

It looks promising, sleek and clean.

Spotted a little bug as soon as i tried it, there's a screenshot at http://fotos.ua.sapo.pt/BFRJI4V5QfAsAJgsJgg4.

Keep up the good work!

that's not a bug. You just installed it only in own home folder.

do
sudo ln -s ~/.themes/Lucidity /usr/share/themes

i dragged it to the Appearance menu, never realized it would install just in my home folder... although that's quite obvious...dumb me.

Thank you for the quick reply by the way!

Can you make a window border variation? One that blends with the rest of the window color?

Report

daas88

as some people have already said, it needs more contrast. Darker letters and it will be perfect! :)

Man, its very nice!

I just think that you should change the scrollbars, they are very common.

But the theme is very nice.

Good luck
