I am using Ubuntu (Gutsy). The script creates as many shortcut as there are words in the file title. I modified it to aim at my desktop (actually only changed the d to D).
Is there any workaround for this problem?
See capture here:

What exactly your mean? What was "words in the file title"? Is the filename wrong or you don't want the "octets" appearance? By the way, I'm using Ubuntu (Gutsy) too. This script work correctly in my system.

The example here shows the original file ("New File") and the 2 sortcuts created.
