Description:

A really smooth-looking login theme using http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Ubuntu+Blue?content=30812the Ubuntu Blue wallpapers and the Tango icon set. Changed font sizes, reduced size of bottom bar. Differentiates Shut Down and Exit buttons. Really cool looking.

The GDM theme is based off of Noobuntu's http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Ubuntu+Glossy+Orange+GDM+Theme?content=48752 Ubuntu Glossy Orange GDM Theme.

The wallpaper is a modified version of dngpng's http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Simple+Ubuntu?content=29323 Simple Ubuntu wallpaper set.

There's not much for me to do, feel free to suggest anything and everything.

This greeter is really nice and up to date with the new ubuntu logo "guidelines".
Is it possible to have a black version like that old one (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Bumpy+Human+-+Black?content=33276&PHPSESSID=3efe733a95d66cebb6821bc0d48ad7c8) but with your theme improvements (logo + icons + etc...) please ?

Awesome, clean looking theme. Thanks Zachary!

I have upped a greyscale modded version of this GDM theme at http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=62708

All due credit goes to Zachary Waldowski for his hard work on this original.

That's odd. Is the font normal, other than the size? Ubuntu (with GNOME) should come with the Bitstream Vera Sans font. I'll check it out.

Check in your "System > Administration > Login Window" menu and check out some of the fonts.

Hello, I'm very newbie user of Ubuntu. Can you explain in primitive language how I can install this beautiful theme on my system?

Ok, I managed to install, but the font size seems too small. I mean when you have to type username. how can I change this?

Ok, the mod is online now. Maybe you could tell me how to get a screenshot with Xnest?

Launch xnest. Hold down alt, and press Print Screen, or on a laptop, hold down FN, alt, and press Print Screen.

Copy it into GIMP and scale it. I also used the crop tool to get rid of the window border.

What's the command to run Xnest properly? I just get some weird screen.

Applications > System Tools > New Login in a Nested Window

or

gdmflexiserver --xnest

The hostname // time info is offset. You might want to change its height to the same height as your bottom bar.

Exactly what I was looking for. I don't care for Ubuntu's oranges and browns. Blech!

Great work!

I fiddled around with it a litte and feel like it's worth being published as a mod. Would you allow me to do that?

What did you do to it? I'm curious, because I know this can be improved. It's rough now, and I would like to know what modifcations you made to improve it.

I replaced some icons and made the bottom bar slimmer. I could send you the file if you give me your email-adress.

What a coincidence, I was planning to do the same!

I'll release a new version today, using updated, and smaller, Tango icons, a small bottom bar, and a bigger logo.

Mine uses 24x24 refreshed Gnome icons and a different GTK-engine for the menus. Maybe I'll change the background, but I'm not sure yet.

Sounds neat... yes, I grant permission for the mod (it is GPL...)

How would you go about changing the gtk theme... I would add Clearlooks or something similar.

Actually , it really is a Clearlooks theme. The one i pubblished here. You could use any Clearlooks theme, really.
