Description:

While GIMP is starting to become a great tool and I got tired of switching to windows to do some Photoshop work. I though I gave it another go.

It frustrated me that it took me a lot of time to find the right tools so I crafted a Toolbox icon theme similar (specialty GIMP's native cropping tool icon I couldn't remember)

After it was done I thought I'd share it so other people who used Photoshop could benefit from this.

I Included:
- a Keyboard shortcut RC file that matched photoshops keyboard shortcuts (http://epierce.freeshell.org/gimp/gimp_ps.php)
- my personal perspective that looks a lot like PS's default.
- A config file that rearranged the order of the tools in the toolbox

That screenshot may speak for itself.

Install instructions Linux:
- Unzip the downloaded file into /home/{username}/.gimp-2.x/
- Open gimp go to: Edit -> Preferences -> Themes and select PsIcons

Install instructions Windows:
- Unzip the downloaded into: C:/Program Files/GIMP 2/share/GIMP/2.x/
- Open gimp go to: Edit -> Preferences -> Themes and select PsIcons

LEGAL NOTE: All the icons in the theme where crafted by GIMP but I used multiple screenshots of Photoshop I found on Google to use as a template. All the icons are slightly different but if this is still an issue that I am afraid that I am the only one benefiting from this work. But at least I cared to share.

Enjoy ;-)

Thank you, I was searching for some time for a solution. Icons should be ICONS, not NICE PICTURES!
It is tool, not art.
Actually, I have a plan to even more simplify it, like at PS3/4, 2-bit bitmap or so :-)

May I suggest the following scallable vector graphics:

It looks great. Just, those icons are grey, I am not sure is it the best solution...
But really great alternative.
I'll put it in my library :-)

Thanks a lot, but what happened to the scroll bar? I can also use the mouse for it, but it would be nice to have it back.

It was turned off. I got used dragging the image around by holding the space-bar.

You can turn it back on by going to:
Edit -> Preferences -> Appearance
There should be a "Show scrollbars" checkbox ;)

Sorry to disappoint you but the icons are just peaces I cut out from screenshots I found on Google and alfa blended with GIMP . I don't have them in better quality.

My next work will probably be a theme with scale-able SVG's

I found a great set here: http://worldofgnome.org/creating-gnome-symbolic-icons-with-jimmac/
but I think the work never got finished.
I asked for it in a comment :)

Great theme for Gimp! Actually that's what I hope to see with every graphics program with Linux. But the "perspective cloning tool" (not sure of the english translation) is missing. So, it's the only one which is colored! Not a problem but I think it could be intereting for you to know it!
