Human icons redesigned!
Erectus is a complete icon set for the Gnome desktop. It is inspired by Ubuntu Human icons. It contains some icons from the Elementary icon theme and various tango icons created by various artists.
Erectus icons are created by Jonian and Olibia.

To change where an emblem is being placed you have to create in places folder a text file (icon_name.icon) for every icon.
For example, we want to define where the emblem is going to be placed on home folder.
*We create a text file folder_home.icon that contains the following:
[Icon Data]
AttachPoints=750,750|750,250|250,250|250,750
*Then we place the text file in /icon_theme_name/48x48/places
If you don't have these text files, the emblems will be placed up-right, like in erectus.
If you want the emblems down-right, you can find the text files in gnome-colors.

if i was to suggest one thing it would be a better icon for the pulseaudio applet (padevchooser) - the original one must be the ugliest of all time

It's certainly a lot more polished, and the new GPL license should make things cleaner and better compatible with debian/ubuntu policies. I'd love to see Erectus uploaded in the repos, I prefer it just a tad more than Humanity, although you also do some great work there.

As for Humanity icons, give it a shot later when it will be more complete. Me and DanRabbit are trying to do our best on that icon theme.

I was wondering whether you have included the icons for text files, etc.? Since Thunar doesn't show them I wondered if I have my settings configured wrong, but I can't find the icon in your set. In Gnome it was the one like the "text-editor.png" but instead of being "tilted back" it was flat on the screen. Any thoughts?

By the way I haven't tested the iconset on xfce or xfce apps, and I'm not aware of the problems that might be.
If you can list me all your issues so I can fix them I'll be thankfull.

Here is what it looks like in Thunar for me, the icon is the default for when it doesn't know what icon to use:
