Description:

A modified version of the Ubuntu Humanity Icon theme that allows you to easily change the icon colors. Essentially, Humanities was inspired by the Gnome-Colors project. Humanity is designed and developed by Daniel Foré, Jonian Guveli, and K.Vishnoo Charan Reddy.
WARNING:
This project is no longer maintained. It was last updated for Ubuntu 11.04. The icons still work on Ubuntu 18.04, but they might look dated.

INSTALL:
Decompress the file to your Home folder and follow the instructions in the file INSTRUCTIONS.html (inside the Humanities folder). After the installation, you will need gnome-tweaks to change your icon theme.
NOTE: I am trying to keep this theme as close as possible to the original Humanity theme. So, I have not added any icons of my own, and I have only recolored icons that were orange, brown, or purple.

Thanks for the great work! I'd really like to use this theme, but there is no preview for text documents. Please, could you add it?

great work. the only problem for me is the panel icons of battery and sound. they don't match with other icons in colors. if you make them colorful too, they will look great.

Hi!

Your project is very nice!

Long time ago the Tango was good, but today the Humanity is the best.

I made and collected few mime and other icons. If you need, you can use them in your project. These icons are made in Tango style. It's bad, but you can use parts from my SVG collection or you can change them to Humanity.

I am glad you like this. And thanks for the link to your lovely icons! However, Humanity-Colors contains exactly the same icons as the original Humanity set. I have changed the colors in some icons, but I have not made any other changes.

hi Dear,

love your new version of these Humanity-color-icons. I have it installed successfully and I love them. This was one of the best ideas here. Perhaps you could add a gold-color for the remaining Christmas-days. I have found a hexcode for it and I will send it to you, because I need the correct terminal-command for it.

Greetings

If the archive was not saved in home-folder and you run the command to change colors the "cd" command will not work and sed tries to replace the colorcode-strings in _every_ file in home-folder.

Could you please replace the semicolons with && to check for exit status of the last command? And I think it's better to give find the path directly and don't use cd.

For example:

tar -jxf Humanity-Colors.tar.bz2 -C ~ && find ~/Humanity-Colors -type f | xargs sed -i -e "s/edd563/888a85/g" -e "s/e08223/747672/g" -e "s/cd8033/555753/g" -e "s/bb5e12/2e3436/g" -e "s/Humanity-Colors/Humanity-Carbonite/g" && mv ~/Humanity-Colors ~/.icons/Humanity-Carbonite;

Good work man! awsome. Works fantastic. Congrats.

My suggestion:
The issue that I fount was that the script "moves" the extracted folder from ~/ to ~/.icons. So When I wanted to add another color scheme I ǘe been obligated to extract from tar.gz again.

I was wandering if it could be possible to add a first command that decompress from the tar.gz, so you do not have to do it every time that you want to install a new color scheme.

Again, grat work.

Keep in that way,

Rho

hi jennie,
thank you for making it possible to ccolorize the Humanity-icons. That's just keen of you. i just downloaded this and followed your instructions and found, that it is a little bit easier than in the instrucitons.
In Lucid it's just necessary to extrat this .tar.bz2-archive into your homefolder, then go into this folder, open a terminal and than open the instrucitons for searching the replac-
ments for the original ccolor. Then copy and paste these replaccements into the terminal and press "Enter".

Then in installs automatically into .icons.

That's so easy. I love this and wanted to ask for a yellow replacement. What do I need to enter into the terminal for a yellow ccolor??

Greetings

Danke sehr :)

Fuer gelb kannst du dass probieren:
cd ~/Humanity-Colors; find . -type f | xargs sed -i -e "s/edd563/fdef72/g" -e "s/e08223/e2cb0b/g" -e "s/cd8033/d7c20f/g" -e "s/bb5e12/b6970d/g" -e "s/Humanity-Colors/Humanity-Star/g"; cd ~; mv Humanity-Colors ~/.icons/Humanity-Star;

P.S. Sorry for the awful German!

It's a nice idea, but that kind of things is already include in another project, named Eclip-X, with graphical interface and stuffs, so this is quite useless.
