This release is loaded will all kinds of whoopass. This is that next level that shows why elementary is different from the competition. More and better monochromes, more and better mimetypes, more and better apps. Not to mention this release marks the start of an effort to have every icon from 16px to 128px
As always, Donations much appreciated.

I'm not sure what you mean about it missing icons. They should all be there.
My suggestion is to remove the old directory first.
It's either going to be in your home directory in a hidden folder called .icons
or it's going to be in /usr/share/icons, in which case you need root privileges to remove it.
Then, you should re-download the latest release, which I just downloaded to check for errors. There are none that I can see ;)

I have erased the old folders, download the latest, and put it on my ~/.icons and in /usr/share/icons
It doesn't work, a lot of icons appears as well, some others no, like this screenshot: http://www.lyceuhns.net/ele_pcman.png
But, should works, like others, like this:

=/
It was just for example, any idea?

I'm sorry, i didn't notice that.
I use PCManFM on LXDE desktop, and on this, there are some icons missing too (menu categories per exemple).
But, that's ok, i hope for new versions to test here again.
Thanks. :D

There's only a few icons that aren't my favs, like the volume notification icon (which looks hella old school/dated).

Very good icon set, but still a bit slow because it uses the power of SVG icon. Appearance is very professional, but slow. If we manage to reduce the size yet, replace the 16x16, 22x22, 24x24, 32x32 PNG icon format, then this icon set absolute best and you will be creative with the king of good taste. Sorry for bad English ....

well the folder icons are of course seen head on in this version...not too bad but ...but the color is much darker and there is a white smudge that looks to be an reflection or highlight.
the zip or package font is blurry..not quite a intense ..
the previous version 2.0.5 the folder icons were angled back and to the right..they were lighter in color ...the zip or package icons were clear and distinct..when I first installed this new version I actually thought I downloaded the wrong package :(
it just looks like an entirely different theme!
I dont think I can get used to these icons..I guess they look overworked to me..whereas the previous version was neat..clean..and very elegant.
I dont know how to explain it better without sounding too picky or downing your creation...I am not trying to do that at all... I just preferred the original look of the theme... I cant find any saved package ..although I must have it somewhere :)
but no.. I cant get used to these.. beautiful theme but not for me but thanks for listening ...sorry though ..if I cant find the 2.0.5 then I have to find another theme or create one :)
thanks again

this 2.1 version is essentially a completely different theme altogether...
the 2.0.5 elementary could be its own theme and this renamed to something other than elementary...why not offer both?? :)

However, if you want to fork. Feel free.
Really, I wish you would be more specific in what it is that you're unhappy with. Maybe that way, I can come back around to what you are looking for? I believe that I've stayed true to elementary's style and, although the new folders are very different from the previous ones, after you get used to the change you realize how much nicer they really are.

Yeah,, the previous icons were sleek,, suimple..elegant...these new ones to me are typical of what you get on gnome-look.. I preferred the previous version because of it's uniquiness as well as the other icons in that set...
I may have it stored somewhere ...I hope... I honestly dont like the new version at all... the icons look too common place ..
I have created themes for cairo dock using the previous set of icons and now it doesnt look as nice..
I understand many people will like these but they had been so nice from the beginning I thought they would not change in appearance anyway :)
thanks anyway... maybe I have a previous version as i said

- Better rhytmbox taskbar icons (for playing/pause). I.e. Meliae icon theme uses simply play/pause buttons.
- Some kickass pidgin tray icons (You're icon designer genius - You'll figure something out:)
- better taskbar volume icon
- power manager has sweet icons, but the blue one with ac adaptor looks ugly - like a black dot on blue one. The blue color used for incadion of almost full battery is too dark.
And last but not least - PERFECT icon for OO Writer :) Sweet notebook - like in first grade in school :)
