I am so very glad whenever a new version is uploaded. This means that the project is not stagnant and you're getting ahead.
Any new version any time soon to make us happy?

Keep up the awesome work CM. I check the theme like a million times a day to see if there's something new.

Thank you

Hi,

KDE Dev will start this week, and I found out the theme is compatible almost 100% with SHELL 3.14. I have identified some cinnamon settings while building OS X El Cap theme, maybe I'll tweak a bit in the next versions.

I'm still trying to find a way to integrate Assets in GTK 2.0. I guess that's the big challenge for now.

**You must have a heavy internet bill xD

Message to All of You Who Care About This Theme

It is virtually impossible for any developer to find all bugs in any piece of software in a reasonable amount of time all by himself.
In a nutshell let's test the theme as thoroughly as possible, find as many bugs as possible (if there are any left) and report them as soon as possible to the developer. Thus development time will be shorter and the final version as close to perfection as possible. I really want this theme to be finalized during my lifetime.

Cheers

Hey, Love the theme so far.

I just noticed some errors when launching nemo from console on Arch.

/usr/share/themes/Windows10/gtk-2.0/Apps/nautilus.rc:10: error: invalid string constant "notebook_button", expected valid string constant
/usr/share/themes/Windows10/gtk-2.0/Apps/gnome-panel.rc:134: error: invalid string constant "scrollbar", expected valid string constant

Hi,

First of all I just want you to know that I am so very glad every time I see you upload a new version. That means that the W10 theme project is not stagnant and you're getting ahead.

I reedit some of my thoughts. Yes I believe that the W10 theme is for those who favor a Windows-like experience + the benefits of Linux.

Yes, I also believe that Cinnamon is probably as close a DE to a Windows-like experience as it gets so far on Linux. No wonder that Mint whose brainchild Cinnamon is ranks so high. Even within Mint's portfolio of DEs Cinnamon ranks highest and not because it's their flagship DE but rather because it's the most popular by number of downloads. Cinnamon isn't just a Mint DE but there's an ever increasing number of distros which adopt it. Even conservative Debian has included it in their stable branch and that really means something.

Keep up the good work. There' s a whole bunch of people who like this theme for their favourite DE, be that Cinnamon or any other fine DE.

And a word to all of you who like this theme: take some time and feedback to the developer. Speak your minds, share your thoughts. After all the developer is not creating merely for himself but generously shares his creation with you.

Thank you C.M.

Can you explain the error? I don't get it...

Is it that it's supposed to be another asset?

Hi,

I'm following your work with great interest.
It goes without saying that you're a phenomenon in its own right.
I respect any opinion (might not agree with some). That's what Linux should be all about. So I won't be going into any polemic about what DE is best ... at the end of the day everything just boils down to individual taste.

As far as which DE is best suited to a more Windows-like experience, I would go for Cinnamon (perhaps XFCE as well).

Your Win 10 theme arguably best goes with Cinnamon. No disrespect intended for GNOME SHELL.

I just happen to like Cinnamon better and my vision for my desktop is: Cinnamon + your awesome Win 10 theme.

As I understand from previous posts you're focus is on SHELL right now, but you also plan for the finishing touches on Cinnamon.

And now the question (actually the very purpose of this post):
ALL TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT, WHAT VERSION OF THE WIN 10 THEME IS THE BEST FOR CINNAMON AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME?

THANK YOU

First, thank you for using our theme!

I don't quite understand your question, but both the Light and Dark theme use the same Cinnamon theme, so it doesn't really matter wich one you use.

sorry if I misunderstood you...

Version as in version number (e.g. v0.5.1) not version as in default or dark. Hope that'll help.

well, I have cinnamon on my laptop, and I'm continually updating the theme. For example, today I finally corrected a small menu bug.

I would say that the best cinnamon theme would be the most recent one until I announce that I have finished working on it :)

Hi,

That's the answer I was looking for. Thank you.
Excuse my ignorance but I assume I don't need the Murrine engine for v0.6.3 if I install the Cinnamon theme, do I? You wrote about it already, I just wanna be sure.

Thanks for answering so promptly

Hi again,

Cinnamon comes with murrine preinstalled, so don't worry about it (except if you get a win 95 look)

Me atrevo a proponerte un par de sugerencias, a ver que opinas:

En gtk-3.0/apps/gnome-applications.css, agregar:

EMailSidebar.view {
background-color: shade(@theme_bg_color, 0.9);
color: @theme_fg_color;
}

para oscurecer el sidebar de Evolution.

En gtk-3.0/gtk-widgets.css, cambiar el background del sidebar, para oscurecerlo en Nautilus:

/***********
* sidebar *
***********/
.sidebar,
.sidebar.view,
.sidebar .view,
.sidebar GtkScrolledWindow {
background-color: shade(@theme_bg_color, 0.9);
color: mix(@theme_fg_color, @theme_bg_color, 0.1);
}

Y cambiar los colores de las tabs en notebook, para dejar el fondo y la pestaña activa blancos y las inactivas grises:

.notebook.header {
border-width: 0;
background-color: @theme_base_color;
}

y

.notebook tab {
padding: 4px;
border-style: none;
background-color: shade(@theme_base_color, 0.85);
background-image: none;
}

.notebook tab:hover {
background-color: shade(@theme_base_color, 0.95);
background-image: none;
}

.notebook tab:active {
background-color: shade(@theme_base_color, 1);
background-image: none;
}

Saludos!

+Thanks Elbullazul, I've enjoyed many of your themes ever since I started using Linux (Mint) over a year ago after finding the Boomerang site. I see you've fixed the title bar in Firefox issue with this release, thanks! You had replied in Boomerang Dark that it would get a Metacity rework too and I was wondering if you had any plans for some others like Aero, Jade, Embedded, Homestead, Royal Dark, and Zune? I don't really mean to heap more work on you, but they are all great themes! That's fair if not supported anymore. Thank you again..
