Thank you for waiting. ..Unfortunately I can't test it in Ubuntu.
I can't login to "Ubuntu default" after upgrading to 17.04. .. I can only login if I choose Gnome.
There's still a lot of works to be done here. ..problem is, I am not very familiar with the Gnome environment.
Please test it in Ubuntu default and give me feedbacks/suggestions so I can fix the problems.

I think the icon theme I used in the screen shot is "Acyl". I got it from noobslab.com
try this:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/icons
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install acyl-icons

I am using Ubuntu Utopic with Unity.
You should add instructions if more than standard user-action is needed...

It is just that I think you should have at least mentioned it in the description. This way I was hoping this theme was using GTK's rgba capabilities, which is a better way to do it, IMO, because Compiz makes transparent everyhing, even the text (which is highly undesirable), and the window borders (Metacity theme), which in case of this theme are already transparent, so the Compiz transparency effect makes it even more so. This makes the Metacity theme always more transparent than the rest of the window is, while I wanted to have it matched.

If you register in index.theme this:
[Desktop Entry]
Type=X-GNOME-Metatheme
Name=AmbianceDSBlueSB12
Comment=Ambiance Dark Sidebar, modified
Encoding=UTF-8
[X-GNOME-Metatheme]
GtkTheme=AmbianceDSBlueSB12
MetacityTheme=AmbianceDSBlueSB12
IconTheme=ubuntu-mono-dark
CursorTheme=DMZ-Black
ButtonLayout=close,minimize,maximize:
Then everything is displayed correctly and works well.

And the same goes for those semi-transparent windows: so tempting... But I also find it difficult when (which is very often) I don't have only a nice wallpaper underneath.
I wish I could find a way out of these dilemmas ;-)
