Flat, simple and clean :)
- Inside the theme folder there is a readme.txt file with some simple instructions (styles for nautilus, change selection color, metacity-buttons)
If you are using Firefox, I recommend for this theme to install the extension FXChrome. It is not completely flat but almost ;)
https://addons.mozilla.org/es/firefox/addon/fxchrome/?src=api
requires:
- GNOME 3.4.x or GNOME 3.6.x (does not work on other versions of gnome)
- GTK3 theme uses unico-engine
- GTK2 theme uses gtk2-engines-murrine
There are four themes:
FlatStudio: based on the color of my other theme MediterraneanNight
FlatStudioLight: found a mockup that I really liked and in which I based for FlatStudioLight, the mockup is of Tobias Bernard's (minimal GTK theme mockup), found in
http://tobiasbernard.com/floss/minimal-gtk-theme/
FlastudioGray: soft gray frame
FlatStudioDark: flat dark theme :)

I installed gtk-theme-config and changed the options under "Custom menu colors" to:
Menu background: dark grey
Menu text: white

Pero tengo una pequeña pega y es que usando FlatStudio los menús de la barra de unity son ilegibles. ¿Hay alguna manera de combinar esta versión con los menús negros de por ejemplo la versión Dark?

I'd love to try the dark and light one! I've re-downloaded the theme several times and triple checked where I'm installing it. It's being listed as a theme in the tweak tool but when I select any save for FlatStudio or 'F/S Gray', I'm not getting FlatStudio, rather I get the 1989 look.
Screen Snaps are Available here:

Happy to send back any additional relevant data u can think of. P.S. I noticed in my own screen snap i got errors opening certain directories in the tree because I didn't run tree as root I'm performing other tests and gonna see I shoudln't maybe use this theme from my ~/.themes

to function properly, the theme only needs to be installed-copied in "usr/share/themes"
check if correctly decompress all files in the theme,
compare the contents of folders for each theme (taken as reference the theme that works well)
You can also launch an app (eg gedit) from the terminal and see if you get errors (with one of the themes that do not work)

1) Re-downloaded your theme pack. There's no MD5 or anything (I'm not that anal anyway) so check this screen snap to validate size if you want.
2) Extracted without error those files. (https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-crrWJwHY8BM/UQIeKzBqyWI/AAAAAAAAAkA/kmIK_aPOXmk/s796/3-errorless-extraction.png)
3) Removed the old FS files, re-copied the new ones, set my metacity and gtk back to Adwaita. (How boring and curvy :/) (https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-vbcSFdqmuUI/UQIeLH2024I/AAAAAAAAAkM/7TTgeYtQglc/s755/4-reset-to-adwaita-reinstall-fs.png)
3) So I'm still getting the same results. Next I have some interesting terminal output for you!
[SCENARIO A]
Ran 'gnome-tweak-tool' from the terminal (a gtk app itself)
With Adwaita as the selected theme
[What Happened]
A whole bunch of warnings, which I think is likely normal. I've seen this before and on several systems I have so I feel like this isn't an issue (maybe I pre-fail already I dunno)
SO I keep going.
[SCENARIO B]
Re-run GTT, get the same warnings, then I select 'FlatStudioDark'
[What Happened]
Quote:
(gnome-tweak-tool:21557): Gtk-CRITICAL **: _gtk_css_section_to_string: assertion `section != NULL' failed
(gnome-tweak-tool:21557): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme parsing error: (null): Failed to import: Error opening file: Permission denied
(gnome-tweak-tool:21557): Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to parse /usr/share/themes/FlatStudioDark/gtk-3.0/settings.ini: Permission denied
[Attempt a fix!]
I run an ls on the offensive file and find that only the user group has read access, so I pull out an ace:
Quote:sudo chmod go+r /usr/share/themes/FlatStudioDark/gtk-3.0/settings.ini
I reset to Adwaita, kill the GTT, restart and re-select FSD. Same visual results (theme not visible and bare-fallback graphics for gtk2 app needs) but this time I got an error output exactly as before only missing that last 'Failed to parse' warning. Those first two warnings are still outputed (and don't really point me towards the problem.)
[Compare with something that works]
Now amid this mess FlatStudioGray works (thankfully) and this is the output I get from the terminal after I select it in the GTT.
Quote:
(gnome-tweak-tool:21557): Gtk-CRITICAL **: _gtk_css_section_to_string: assertion `section != NULL' failed
(gnome-tweak-tool:21557): Gtk-WARNING **: Theme parsing error: (null): Failed to import: Error opening file: Permission denied
(gnome-tweak-tool:21557): Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to parse /usr/share/themes/FlatStudioGray/gtk-3.0/settings.ini: Permission denied
Same errors! So I haven't found the issue just yet. I did read the one post in some arch forums about a guy having issues with your theme that he fixed by updating some of his files, but I think mine are up to date. I'd be interested to know if any other FS users have had or are having this issue.

(I uploaded version 1.03 although see 1.02 in this page)
I think I found the problem, in my opinion it is a permissions problem. I modified the permissions of all files and I think this is solved.
Try it and tell me how it went

This seemed to do the trick! FlatStudioDark and Light still don't look quite right when looking at folders, but all themes skin gtk2 apps properly (ie chrome menuns, eclipse).
FlatStudio Looks Good (https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-eoENDmrREW8/UQKf6xBP2II/AAAAAAAAAlE/_lm0eGJodKM/s1048/fs-lookin-good.png)
Flat Light Still Doesn't Skin the folder 100% but its approaching that... (https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-N3DvBgVGAuo/UQKf6-sFvXI/AAAAAAAAAlE/IXTQxhsQzRY/s1048/light-not-so-much.png)
Your themes don't cause any terminal output anymore, which is a good thing I guess, but it also gives us no additional info. I'm pretty happy having both FlatStudio and the Gray version fully working though so I'll stop bugging you but if you ever want any help testing and resolving those issues I'm happy to pitch in my efforts.
Thanks so much for your help changing those permissions!

To help you, I need to know which version of FlaStudio downloaded and which version of Gnome you have.
I get the impression that one of the two does not have the correct version.
