Description:

Ok, figured out how to attach screenshot.

Ubuntu wallpaper with Ubuntu logo and water reflection done in Gimp and Paint.NET. Background is Ubuntu "Simple Ubuntu" from Feisty, grayed out. I think it's all LGPL?

Reflection has transparency, so you can change the color of the "water" by changing your desktop solid color background. My first contribution, hope it's not too hideous...:-)

This is a really great wallpaper. My only suggestion/question is if you can do something with the reflection so that the "t's" look more like "t's" and not "i's". Aside from that it's great. :)

Thanks bigwillyt!

I see what you mean, the b&t look like dotted i's in the reflection. I'll fiddle with it and re-post.

how do you get that water effect? It's awesome!! You made it with GIMP? could you please hint me about how you did it?? Thanks! ;)

I'm very glad you like it!

The water reflection effect was made with Paint.NET in Vista (forgive me, I have sinned...). It's a plugin for Paint.NET. that is very simple to use.

All the rest was done in GIMP running in Ubuntu.

The transparency of the effect is an accidental byproduct of the reflection plugin (I'd like to say it was deliberate, but since I'm confessing sins I must be truthful!!)
