Description:

A dark theme designed to complement a user's thinking process. The workflow is colour coded with an emphasis on clarity of operation.

Optimised to work both with CRT and LCD screens (theme elements are still clearly identifiable whether the content is bright or dark).
All major colour components are easily configurable to suit different tastes.

Inspired by and originally based on the templates of Cillop 'midnite' and Overglossed.

Installation: save the archive file then install via the Appearance control panel.

1.0:
Extended use, testing and feedback have resulted in some cosmetic and usability tweaks for this final version!
The theme now defaults to the Ubuntu icon set and uses the built-in window decoration manager so it is easier to customise the window borders. A bit more use of colour and a more refined design.

(Release +1)
Minor tweak to the bottom slider, added screenshot with shaded windows and list views.

Added Nimbus icons link.

(7 Feb 2009)
Introduced a divider which assists menu bar targeting when the window's content is black.
Made a tweak to the text shader which should help in text visibility on certain applications - this is a common issue with all dark themes.
Added option-box and drag-bar highlighting.

I really like this theme, I am using it right now. But it has the tipical OpenOffice issue of most dark themes. Is there a workaround for it?

Hi, thanks for the feedback!
OpenOffice is one of the applications I tested while designing the theme and it works fine for me - what specific problem are you having and I will have a look into it.

Regards.

That open office bug with dark themes has been resolved with the karmic release.

I like this theme although I'd change the colours a little... Partially Cillop - based good choice the svg work on that theme is really clever.

The colours are customisable via the 'Customise...' button in the 'Appearance' panel.
