Black & Green
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
A dark theme based on maryj (kept the awesome buttons), and some ideas taken from several themes around here.
It needs the pixbuf engine to work.
For vertical panels:
-open the file /home/user/.themes/Black-green/gtk-2.o/panel_custom.rc and change inactive-horiz.png for inactive-vert.png as indicated in the picture.

1.0 - Because of the good reception it had, I released the theme as a final release (of course I'll fix eventual bugs and minor stuff).
1.1 - Changed the menu bar color for more continuity with the color below.
1.2 - Support for vertical panel

You need to install the hi-contrast icons for openoffice; they are in the repositories.
Over 1000 downloads!!!
Didn't expect so many when I made it.

find the package openoffice.org-style-hicontrast and install it.
Or you can do it on a terminal/console:
sudo aptitude install openoffice.org-style-hicontrast
Either way should work just fine.
