This was taken from gOS I did not crate this. I am posting this for people wanting to upgrade from uBuntu 7.10 to 8.10...

To install extract the contents to any directory then right click on the desktop select change desktop background, theme, click install and select the files you extracted.. If anything does not work please post and I will try and help...
