First of all, great theme.

I had the same problem, but commenting the lines in file gtk-2.0/panel.rc:

widget_class "*BonoboDockItem" style "panel-notification-bg"
class "*BonoboDockItem" style "panel-notification-bg"

solves it. A good way to see it is opening the file-roller application, which would present the same problems.

i tested out a bunch of different themes and with engines posted here on gnome-look. and this one was the by far the fastest.. faster than alphacube which was second.. dunno if my test was very scientific but the differences were big enough to say that this one is the fastest in any case

Nice. It's now my favorite dark theme!

One minor issue, the background of my deskbar-applet[1] is white and so does the theme's text color. So I can't see what I type now.. any workaround?

Install Deskbar applet for gnome, the normal text is unreadable due to white fonts and white background.

I fixed, in the gtkrc file, on the part: "style "clearlooks-panel" ="

Change text[NORMAL] = #ffffff to #000000

the same applies for

style "panel-text"

Sory for my bad english.

yes well the theme is designed for the gnome-panel to have white text on a dark background, so of course if you are using something other than the gnome panel config of the gtk theme that uses a white background you'll have to make changes others would not have to.

i understand this theme uses clearlooks engine and i was wondering if it was possible for you to add animation support which is possible with the new clearlooks engine with cairo enabled. Thank you great work!

I've been using this theme ever since I switched to linux a few months ago.

I've fixed two "problems" :

- Icons in the notification area now have the same background as the panel (White in the 0.2 release... but Azureus' stays white for some reason...)
- Changed the panel bg to the same image but without the greyish line on top of the panel.

I updated the file again to fix a little problem with the background in the notification area (was 1px too low compared to the rest of the panel)

i really enjoy using this theme, but there's a thing you could improve IMO: Menus are not easily readable. Would you make a different version of this theme with a light menu but a dark selection? or a white text? or any other better idea you should have to make nicers menus ;)

Nice work on this theme, I've been looking for a good dark gtk theme for a while... and my search ends here! ;)

Anyway, can you link to the wallpaper you used on the screenshot? It looks really nice

First of all - thx for creating this wonderful theme. I have been looking for such a usable dark theme. However, I have some problems with the top panel in ubuntu. At the botom of the top panel I get a thin brown line which is not seen in your screenshot. How can I get rid of it? THX for helping!

You have to decrease the size of the top panel.

Set it to 24 pixels and the white line will disappear.
To do this right click on the panel, select properties and change the size.

Looks very nice.
How does it work with the font colors.?

Cant check myself right now but can you see the font colors correct on http://www.gmail.com

Darker themes on gtk2 is really bad.
Maybe there are ways (codes) for it but i havent seen any yet.
