Feisty New Human
GTK2 Themes
Score 68%
Description:

I took feisty's native glossy theme (which uses clearlooks engine), traded the blue widgets for orange ones, added the glossy_orange metacity theme (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/glossy+orange?content=54781)
and Human icons.

I use beryl, so I had to change emerald for heliodor decorator at first, but now I've ported the decoration theme to emerald (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Feisty+New+Human?content=55463).

Well, that's it, enjoy.

1.01 - Some dialogs (new launcher, i.e.) 'wear" the automatic panel background, so I took that option out. But there still are backgrounds for gnome panel in ~/.themes/Feisty_Human/gtk-2.0/panel/, if you want to use it.

Is this theme supposed to look the same on Gutsy? Because it sure doesn't for me...

Thanks for all the complements guys.

Voiceless, that was exactly my complaint too, so i worked around it a little bit, using ubuntulooks engine.

The only problem is that I haven't been able to reproduce all the features in the original theme, but I'me getting closer and eventually will manage to update the theme.

A lovely little theme here! I installed Feisty yesterday and after configuring it all to my tastes, I'm just tweaking the GUI. This is just what I was looking for and thanks for the tip regarding the panel background as well. :)

I can install this theme just fine, but when I actually use it, the only thing that looks like what's shown in the screenshots is the window border, everything else is gray and square-ish:

Oh, that's probabily because you don't have clearlooks gtk2 engine installed. Try looking for that with synaptic and install it, it should work then.

Hum, sorry for that, i saw your screenshot again and noticed clearlooks is installed... Now i really can't figure this out... I thought that would be the single dependency... I'll try to solve this one and get back here.

I must say I'm confused, too... I was using Glossy Orange and then went out to test your theme. When I applied the controls theme, everything turned gray and square, just as if the engine was not installed; but then, as soon as I applied your window border theme, everything became glossy, as intended... How's that? o_O

I'm back! I've upgraded to Feisty and now this theme works fine, and I must say it's definitely the best one I've ever used!
I love the buttons, they seem shinier than the Human ones, I love it! The darker colors and dark orange highlights are very nice, too.

My only complaint is the progress bars; I really like the 3D glass Human ones, more than the ones for this theme. Is there a way to keep everything about this theme, but change the progress bars to the Human ones?

What is the name of the start menu that is shown in the picture

Oh, that's the ubuntu system panel. I6t's areal shame that it hasn't made in to the official repository, 'cause I think it's way better than SLED (novell's menu).

Anyway, here's a link (you'll need to register yourself in ubuntu foruns, no big deal):

what's your gnome version? i think this will only work from 2.17.x. In ubuntu this first time this feature (color choice) came up was in Feisty's alphas... I'll try to work around that.
Thanks!

I'm using 2.18 (the current version Feisty has)

Me too. That's odd... I deleted the theme and then installed it using the packge and it works here...

If anyone else experiences the same bug we might get some help. But, by now, try editing the ~/.themes/Feisty Human/index.theme file, commenting the GtkColorScheme line.

Everything will be blue, though. You have to open gnome-theme-manager e change the colors in the personalize dialog.

good luck.
