OSX-Tiger theme
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
This is my very first GTK-theme. It tries to imitate OSX Tiger operating system's Aqua theme. There are some differences, because GTK sets some limits what you can do and what not.
Theme uses some graphics from Glossy P theme.
This theme uses pixbuf engine so in Ubuntu you'll need to install gtk2-engines-pixbuf package.
I have written more about OSX imitating on my website www.taimila.com.

I have a screenshot here : http://www.imagehosting.com/show.php/511131_crash.png.html
As you can see, in the bottom right corner is a small banner. Gnome as well as XFCe crash as soon as this banner show up when using this theme.
I am using Fedora Core 5 and evolution 2.6.0
I hope you can fix this problem, then this theme could be the best mac alike theme around

I'm new to linux and using Ubuntu 6.06. Tried to install this theme by installing GTK2. Now my desktop is kind of screwed up like only 2 workspaces, missing add/remove programs, and other problems. How can I restore my system to original gnome and re-install this theme?
I tried "rm -rf .gnome .gnome2 .gconf .gconfd .metacity" but doesn't fix it.
Please help.
Thanks!

One thing i've noticed w/ linux is it's pretty easy to mess up your system with bad installations, (especially with newbs) so back up often.

Just forget about the foreposters comment.. of course you can use this theme in XFCE :)
You have to unpack it into the .themes (don't forget the dot in front of it) folder under your home-directory (like /home/insertusername/.themes). You can do this with thunar-archiver or even file-roller, if installed.
Then open the XFCE controlcenter either via menu or by pressing ALT + F2 and typing xfce-setting-show
In "User Interface Settings" navigate to OSX-theme and apply.
Have fun :)

The DreamAccurateTiger window border seems a pure beryl based theme. Is there any pure gnome/GTK window border? (Anyway I found some in gnome-look but not as good as your screenshot shows.)
The TAB, I mean, when pressing the <TAB> key, other UI components will get focus. For example, when the checkbox get focus, a thin-dotted-line border will be over the checkbox; when the textbox get focus, a blue line will be around the component. What is not doing well in the theme is when the button get focus, there is no very clear difference among other buttons. If this could be fixed(no need to be complicated, may be just thin-dotted-border is fine), it would be more useful.
I am really appreciated your work, again.

Not only the theme - but the great guide too!
A sub-section for how to patch gtk, or a more detailed installation guide for the macmenubar-applet would be a nice addition though. The guy who used to maintain the applet, doesn't anymore. That's why a how to about patching and compiling would be nice, someone else might take on the task of maintaining the package - if they just know how.
Thanks! Hyvää työtä!

We'll see if I write this section in more detail in future. Now, I don't have time for that. Sorry :(

A couple of questions:
1 when using TAB to switch focus on different components, textfields are fine, but buttons cannot distinguished very easily
2 Could you tell us where is the window border?

I'm not sure do I understand your comment about tabs. Could you be more specific? I know that tabs are not very OSX like, but it's hard to achive the real thing with GTK.
