Last changelog:

2.2.2 probably the last update, this should
fix the message of an engine "" not installed
I can't try it myself if it works (since I don't have
gnome installed) so if anyone would be kind
to let me know if it works, it would be kind :)
This will probably be my last fix as I'm not on
gnome anymore.

2.2.1 Fixed my previous F**kup. (at least I hope so)
(it's been tested on ubunut 7.10). If anyone still
has any kind of problem please be so kind and let me
know!

Thanks!

if you use compiz then:

in ccsm - general options - opacity

(name=gnome-panel | type=Menu | PopupMenu | DropdownMenu)

and transparency = 80

in ccsm - blur - alpha blur windows

(name=gnome-panel | name=usp | type=Menu | PopupMenu | DropdownMenu)

blur = gaussian
alpha blur = true (checked)

hope this helps!

I can't seem to get the blur to work. I got the opacity working but when I enter blur, it disables opacity. After reboot, the opacity is back, but still no blur. Any pointers? Either way, looks sweet! Thanks a ton!

Thank you very much and glad you got it
to work!

Using latest firefox I know you don't
need any fix at all since that was a
bug in firefox 2.

As for thunderbird, It should work with
the latest, I have never used it myself
but if you can establish that there is
a bug I might have to look into it!

@ santoya
Did you follow that? :

"second (this one fixes firefox, This fix is made by user twrock, so if he wants me to delete it i will)
cp /usr/share/themes/SlicknesS/userChrome.css $HOME/.mozilla/firefox/*.default/chrome"

It works fine for me.

@therob
One quick question.. What's the font you're using in your screenshots?

and oh, the time in the first screenshot is 22.56.38 or 39 :P :P

Very nice theme.

My gnome-panels turned out very glossy like in your first screenshot. I prefer the way they look in your other two screenshots. Any ideas?

I posted a screenshot of mine at

Thank you very much!

The panel on the other screenshots
are from a very old version of slickness
I have just been too lazy to update those....

Sorry for the false info!

I have the same problem..

To fix it I just went to
System-->Preferences-->Advanced Desktop Effects Settings

look for "Window Decoration" and set your shadow settings as you like

for me..

Shadow-
Radius: 0.1000
opacity:0.0100

Offset-
x: 0
y: 0

so I kinda disabled shadows.
I hope it works..

-----------------

The theme is great! Although I changed the desktop image. Great work!

Hi rob,

first of all - very nice work, I love this theme from the first minute I saw it :-) There's only one little problem I would like to solve: The glow around the windows is red or a kind of pink. Where can I change the color of this (to white for example)? Should I have to edit the gtkrc or is this setting somewhere else?

thanks & keep your creativity

Thank you!

There is now pink/red glow around windows
in this theme so I'm afraid I have no idea
what you are talking about :)

I don't know, maybe post a screeenshot of
your problem..

Hi,

Have a look here: http://www.250kb.de/u/080423/p/528898d8.png

Is this maybe a problem with the hardware?

Report

I think what happened there is that someone messed with the Shadow colors under Compiz. At least that's what it looks like to me.

By the way, I love this theme, it's the longest living theme on my desktop so far. I usually like to change it every few weeks, but it's been here a while and on both my laptop and desktop!

Yeah that's probably it!

Thanks for using my theme!

Glad you like it, it's inspiring to get
feedback like that!

Cheers!

Wow!

That is unlike any problem I have seen
before!

I have absoutely no idea what could have
caused that, however I don't think it's
a problem with your hardware(it's highly
unlikely)

If you use compiz with emerald you can
try to install the emerald window borders
theme from here:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/SlicknesS+Emerald?content=73972

please reply if that works better :)

I bet they are using ubuntu 8.04. I am also and it has this (what used to be cool) glow on all objects; but now that I just installed this theme (friggin great theme BTW) I no longer like the glow.

I have been looking all night for a why to turn it off. I have a feeling that I can turn Visual Effects off 'Extra', but I like my wobble windows.

If the problem is there only when using
compiz I don't really believe it's related
to this theme!

just install the package compizconfig-settings-manager

(sudo apt-get install compizconfig-setttings-manager)

and change the shadow there or install
my emerald theme I made for slickness
(download link can be found right beneath
the download button for this theme)

Also, thank you for your nice words about
my theme! really appreciated.

hope this helps

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if the wallpaper is not accesible at the moment, but if i set the GTK Theme it suggest me the Wallpaper, but when i click on apply, the theme sets me a complete dark blue wallpaper, wich i think can't be the right wallpaper?
