It is time to give a modern and professional look to our desktop! The new theme makes more clever use of orange (not over-use it) and is mainly color-neutral. It is designed for Ubuntu in mind but can be used in other distros that may bear warm colors.
Installation: (requires pixbuf theme engine)
Very simple. Just double click the file newwave-(xxx).gtp where (xxx) is the version number e.g. 050. Note that if you have previous version of the theme in your home folder you need to remove it first. You may need to log out then log in to make all changes appear (e.g. handlers, lines). For more information on how to fix Firefox's menubar text and how to use the theme in root programs see the README file.
Extras:
The package also contains:
- New Wave Configurator (GUI),
- Emerald themes,
- Compiz-fusion settings,
- Second theme with dark menus,
- Firefox skin,
- Some metacity tweaks.
- Time applet tips.
Theme for xfwm4 (Xubuntu) can be downloaded in the Download section of this page.

as it has similar colors and effects. As for the icons you could get the ones at the LaunchPad project (currently on the screenshots) here:
https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-new-wave/anton/devel.icons
These Icons are based on the Elementary Icons set (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Elementary+Icons?content=73439)

If i may be critical, it would look better if the login box (your selected color in the theme) were a bit smaller! like the box in the original theme.
You have any plans for a wallpaper for your theme and GDM (background), the suggested one is good, but i think by creating one, your themes will be more effective, hope I am not asking too much from you!
here is a screenshot, of my desktop using your theme!

You are right about the login box. I don't like it that big either. I will see what I can do about it. Btw do you like the color of the login box?
Yes I have plans for an active desktop (wallpaper slideshow that changes during night and day depending on the hour). But I have no certain ideas yet.

As far the changing wallpaper goes, a simple neat abstract wallpaper would do the trick if different shades (if thats what you are looking for) are compatible with your theme colors! good luck!
P.S. You inspire me! I guess i would get started on some theme/wallpaper!

I tried a lot of combinations for the scrollbars and if they were not in the scrolled window widget it looks much better but several problems appear. First the line on the left of the horizontal scrollbar is almost the same color as the inner shadow, that would be drawn if the scrollbars were outside the widget, thus resulting in 2px thick line that isn't quite beautiful. Then there is and issue if I remove it in some apps the inner shadow of the content is not drawn and then they look unfinished.
I will further work on the sliders so that they look good as you suggested and appear well in all applications.

However, I wondered if it was perhaps possible to use that element from the new murrine engine - I know at least the feature is available there. Try looking up murrine symphony - I think it shows what I mean better. =)

I could not quite understand you about what element I should look for in this murrine symphonic? Could you be more specific?

That said, since you're using the pixmap engine (and are obviously good at making art), you have no use for it. I like the scrollbars as they are.
What I find odd is the colour variance: the selected menu item is very dark in comparison with the rest of the theme, the list headers are different from the buttons (why?), and so on.
Other than that, it's a very promising pixmap theme. Keep up the good work!

However this practice may not work very well with pc themes :) so I will try different options and see what's best.

Sure I'm the designer but sometimes I make mistakes or just don't do what I feel is right. Now I feel the scrolls look better ;)

So I guess paraboy is right about that all colors should be of the same type and have to differ only in light/dark tones. I'll try to fix this and as soon as I'm ready I will upload the theme here.
Thanks for the useful feedback!
