It is time to give a modern and professional look to our desktop! The new theme makes more clever use of orange (not over-use it) and is mainly color-neutral. It is designed for Ubuntu in mind but can be used in other distros that may bear warm colors.
Installation: (requires pixbuf theme engine)
Very simple. Just double click the file newwave-(xxx).gtp where (xxx) is the version number e.g. 050. Note that if you have previous version of the theme in your home folder you need to remove it first. You may need to log out then log in to make all changes appear (e.g. handlers, lines). For more information on how to fix Firefox's menubar text and how to use the theme in root programs see the README file.
Extras:
The package also contains:
- New Wave Configurator (GUI),
- Emerald themes,
- Compiz-fusion settings,
- Second theme with dark menus,
- Firefox skin,
- Some metacity tweaks.
- Time applet tips.
Theme for xfwm4 (Xubuntu) can be downloaded in the Download section of this page.

..inside you'll find a script named "ooo.sh" which radically change openoffice stylish according to color theme,I think you could try to do something similar....:)

I have to say, other than that one very small issue, this is my favorite theme! I was not a fan of the darker themes but New Wave changed all of that. It grew on me the more I used it.
Keep up the great work!

Nodoka and other themes change the panel completely and give me the freedom to use the panel background we want to use.
Can you enable that in your theme?

style "panel" = "newwave-default"
then replace bg_pixmap[NORMAL] = "Images/Panel/PanelBarLong.png" with smth like that:
bg_pixmap[NORMAL] = "Smoke image location.png"

P.S.
I'd have to say that this theme is not using the murrine engine as many of you think and this theme will not get rgba support until Gnome 3.0 is released.

This can harm the user experience especially for newbies that don't know how to do the user CSS thing you suggest to fix that.
Thank you.

Coming soon is version 0.8.0 that will include a FF theme fixing this and adding much more polish. It will be available in a week or so.

However i think the progress bar is a bit plain. It would be great if it can be strip-colored.
