Description:

It is time to give a modern and professional look to our desktop! The new theme makes more clever use of orange (not over-use it) and is mainly color-neutral. It is designed for Ubuntu in mind but can be used in other distros that may bear warm colors.

Installation: (requires pixbuf theme engine)
Very simple. Just double click the file newwave-(xxx).gtp where (xxx) is the version number e.g. 050. Note that if you have previous version of the theme in your home folder you need to remove it first. You may need to log out then log in to make all changes appear (e.g. handlers, lines). For more information on how to fix Firefox's menubar text and how to use the theme in root programs see the README file.

Extras:
The package also contains:
- New Wave Configurator (GUI),
- Emerald themes,
- Compiz-fusion settings,
- Second theme with dark menus,
- Firefox skin,
- Some metacity tweaks.
- Time applet tips.
Theme for xfwm4 (Xubuntu) can be downloaded in the Download section of this page.

That is really difficult to do as the theme is based on already drawn images. If somebody wants to change the sources I will give them to him.

Hello.
Thank you for this new release. It looks wonderfull, but could you please add a version or some method for the old buttons? The round ones from version 0.59 or below?
The only flaw (IMHO) on your GREAT theme are the buttons. (The minimize, maximize, close ones). They look SO much better now than in previous version, still I like rounded ones more. Any way I can have them in 0.70 version? (and above)

Thanks and good job!

If you are using compiz you can install emerald. There is theme with round buttons for emerald that is pretty good. As far as the metacity - I haven't thought that somebody may need it but I will upload a updated version to gnome-look soon.

Can you please send me more info about your OS and more detailed description of how you first installed the theme. Can you report the bug here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/anton

So the theme is installed? Did you try to restart your computer or log out and then in?

I am under Ubuntu, so using GNOME. I extracted the archive from the archive and pasted it to :

/usr/share/themes

And the complete directory structure is :

/usr/share/themes/New Wave/gtk-2.0
/usr/share/themes/New Wave/metacity-1
... along with the 2 files from the New Wave folder root.

You should remove the space between the two words: 'New Wave' -> 'NewWave'. That should work.

If it doesn't remove the copy from /usr/share/themes/ and istall it in ~/.themes/
Then do the following in termina window:
sudo ln -s ~/.icons /root
and:
sudo ln -s ~/.themes /root

I redownloaded the package like 11 times. Each time the theme file was corrupted, now on the 12 time it's fine.

What a story !

I like this theme a lot. Any update plans in the works? Anyway to add the little colored ring around active text boxes? I like that.

A update is coming soon! Expect better foucus navigation as well as new top of the windows.

About the outer focus - I will think about it but probably will not change it.

Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex.

This is a very nice, clean theme. Easy on the eyes and with lots of attention to detail.
Somehow, you've managed to fix a lot issues I've had with other themes in my Xfce environment. I applaud your professionalism!

It goes very well with the Discovery icon set by the way.

One thing I'd like to note is that checkboxes jump up and down when you move your mouse pointer over them, but radio buttons don't. Is this intentional? I would have expected them to act the same. (I do love the jumping checkboxes, though. Very original. :) )

Thanks.

The "jumping" of the checkboxes is intentional. It was used on the option buttons but the effect was not good so I removed it.
