Description:

I don't have time or motivation to maintain this icon theme anymore (this theme has not changed since version 3.3, Mar 17 2007). The fact that it still "kinda" works nearly a decade later (2015) is a small miracle. If anyone wants to take over its ownership, please contact me.
====================

This is (was) a complete refresh of the original OSX icon theme by Toby. I fixed every missing icon I could find, fixed the "tiny icon" problem and made enhancements. It is somewhat of a hybrid theme: I tried to make choices that seemed logical trying to keep a balance between usability and strict adherence to OS X.

2015 update: fixed the download link, nothing else.

This pack is simply phenomenal on my Feisty machine, however it doesn't seem to work on Gutsy - anyone else given it a try? The Applications menu is broken.

Simply fantastic otherwise. I'll never use another icon theme.

I have actually stopped using my own icon theme pretty much since the Tango project started bringing nice crisp icons onto my desktop (and now I love the new official GNOME icons too), and since gnome's icon naming conventions are subject to change for freedesktop compliance, it is possible that it broke for gnome 2.20.

I haven't actually tested, and I don't actually have the time and inclination to maintain this theme anymore (especially when Tango + gnome icons are so nice and complete in my opinion), as I mentionned at the top of this page. So if anyone wants to pick up the ownership of this theme and fix it, drop me a line :)

In an earlier response to a comment you said the name of the GTK window theme you used in the first and second screenshot was Mockup. I can't seem to find it anywhere. I've used it before, but I was using the Human version of it. Can you link it or tell me where I can find it?

Thanks for the reply and link, but that theme's window border doesn't look anything like the one in your screenshots. Are you sure that is it?

oh, that one was not a theme per se, it was the window borders from an old version of Compiz. Compiz now uses the metacity window border themes nowadays, so you should look at this instead: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Compiz+Express?content=37636

This theme looks accurate, except the folders.
Are there icons similar to those of the actual OS X folders?

Report

actually, I had the blue "striped" folders from OSX but they looked pretty crappy and hard on the eyes. I think they still are in the icon theme if you want them. See them in:

"OSX/scalable/places/original folders"

Could we get those in SVG format?

well since the source material is in PNG, converting to SVG does not make sense

slipttees, I did not intend to "fight", I just did not want users to be confused by two icon themes with the same identical name.

I just sent you a message about this, maybe you could actually maintain this icon theme.
