Description:

Today I started a little playing on the Longhorn Inspirat Theme and the SlateNG-Theme. I wanted it that it seems like Metacity and the menubar are not separated (my screenshot will tell you this better than I am able to do - Sorry for the bad English). I replaced the picture for the titlebar in the Metacity-Theme and the picture for the menubar with exactly the same PNG. But Metacity and the menubar seem to scale differently. There is exactly one length of the window where everything is correct. If I make it smaller or bigger nothing is like I meant it to be.

Any suggestions to solve this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

First of all I'm glad that you like my SlateNG theme. The same thing you are trying to do now is what I did when I wrote it: http://mitglied.lycos.de/devilx4hellnet/slateng-silver.png
The only problem is, that it's a fixed picture what means, that it won't get resized when resizing the window. On the screenshot it looks good, because the window width fits to the bg-picture. If you'd resize it, it would look like crap. I would also be interessted in a solution for this, when I started working on that theme it wasn't possible to do such gradients on metacity/gtk.

Schade. Vielleicht SVG?

I don't know if svg would work or if gtk supports stretching it. Try it. :)

yes, svg will do it w/ metacity, but if it will along w/ gtk I don't know. With enough tweaking, you may get it real close. These are svg in metacity
