This set clearly constitutes unauthorized distribution of Iconfactory's icons. As you have clearly stated as their license: these icons "may not be disassembled, reverse-engineered or otherwise modified, in part or in whole except for personal desktop use. This includes conversion into other graphic formats such as jpeg, png, etc."

But you have converted the original icons to PNG format and distributed them without explicit permission from Iconfactory to do so. Kindly do the right thing and remove this set.

I understand your concern. I have written icon factory for their written permission, and am waiting their reply.

However, their license states that the icons can be modified for personal desktop use.

"disassembled, reverse-engineered or otherwise modified, in part or in whole EXCEPT FOR PERSONAL DESKTOP USE."

The REAL question and dilemma is can I distribute the icons on kde-look.org, because they have links to "FOR profit" websites (Lindows, etc.)

I appreciate your concern, becuase I wouldn't want someone stealing property from me. However, I am following their license, and these are free icons on many websites.

However, if kde-look.org, or iconsfactory asks me to remove the icons I will do so.

The clause "except for personal use", as far as I understand it, is meant to apply only to cases in which the user who downloads the icons from Iconfactory modifies or converts it to other image formats on his own and then applies it on his own computer.

Anyhow, it's always prudent to wait for permission to convert and distribute the icons before you actually distribute them, don't you think? Silence doesn't mean consent.

No new icons have been added, but I wanted to let people know that there are more than 4 icons in this set...there are 35+ icons. I really needed some cheap disk space so I can converge WOA Rev2 Drives & Folders.

Anyone know of cheap web space?

Hey - you're _more_ than welcome to distribute and / or edit the buildset script to however you want - even feed changes back to me and I'll incorporate them into the sf site!
