(If you have KDE 3.3 or greater, please use the SVG version of my iconset:
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=17158)

Yes, they are grey.

It has been a while, but I finally motivated myself to work on the set again.
I now feel happy to call this set "Version 1.0".

With 1776 pieces of SVG goodness, I believe that my iconset is the most comprehensive of any in KDE - tell me if it is also the best :)
As KDE 3.3 has now been released (with improved SVG support), I have released the SVG version of this set in parallel.

The response to this iconset has been amazing, especially the few emails I have received - thanks everyone!

(Created as SVG in Inkscape).

----
I also strongly recommend my Flat extras pack: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=12592
This package contains loads of extras that cannot be easily installed - Flat splash screens for apps, colour schemes, misc images, etc. - for a consistent Flat desktop.

Last changelog:

0.96c - Now at 1680 icons.
In this release, I have continued the cleanup of many of my icons, and added over 100 new ones. Many of these new icons are for SuSE.

0.9.6b - Now at 1561 icons.
Though I have still added a few requests - and I still have some more to do - the main aim for this release was the cleanup of many of the icons - I think that there is a noticeable difference in the quality of this version compared to previous ones.

0.9.6 - I have decided to release again, as the changes have built up: added all of the requests for icons, tweaked many icons to make them look better, changed the juk and noatun buttons - now much better. And of course, 48 new icons.

0.9.5 - Now at 1486 icons.
Again, not too many new icons (80 new ones, many application-specific), but I guess it is time to update anyway :)
In this release, I have tried to satisfy requests - added icons for gaim, gkrellm, amarok, also a few new folder types - but I cannot think of anymore on my own :)

Your description says that this icon set is developed with Inkscape; so why not provide us with the icons in SVG format instead of pre-rendered PNGs? Besides allowing us to use the icons at any size, you'll end up decreasing the size of the set by quite a bit - which should aid you in securing a webspace.

You could, perhaps, use the Reinhardt set as a reference: the hulking 15.7MB PNG set dropped to 1.1MB when distributed in the scalable format.

Yes - at this very moment I am preparing an SVG release of my icons - I have had some issues (namely that fact that inkscape SVG's are not rendered correctly in KDE.

This is solved now, and I will release very shortly.

I have instaled your flat splash and i love it. So i wish to instal your icons too, but i can not download it because the server is down. Can you please reload it on an other server? I really want to instal this fantastic work.

I love the flat theme, and its now my default. The problem is that it tends to look a little dull. Is it possible that you would come out with some subtly coloured version of this - just to jazz things up a bit?

Yeah, the last few days I have thought more and more about releasing a colour version.

But first, I wanted to make sure that I had a good base of icons - and I think I have done that now (I am also running out of icons to create).

I an thinking of releasing both a primary colour version and a more sober looking one - do you have any colour preferences?

I will probably start tonight :)

If they are in SVG format, the base color could be changed with a stylesheet, in theory. At least, if some planning were done at the beginning. A script could be used however to ease the conversion...

Yep, I do create the icons as SVG, and I know that there are python scripts available to change the colours - however, I could never get these to work :(

Also, my current choice of colours (just grey!) is, IMHO, a bit too restrictive, and so redoing all of the colours is probably the best way.

Don't worry though - it will not take too long :)

Is there really a need for a separate colored version? Why not use the 'set effect' functionality in the advanced tab?

There you can change the color of the icons to your liking.

Yep, I know this is possible, but this only applies a tint to the icons - my colour set will have lots of different colours...

Thanks for the colour scheme.
Kile has already been created - I have just not released in a while :)

I think that I will create a primary colour set and also a pastel set...

I hope this won't delay the thunderbird theme you said you would do :-). I'm really looking forward to that!

I love green, and there aren't too many green icons around. Blue has been overworked, so I don't recommend it. Pastel shades would look good I think.

Hi.

I know it's a little off, but would you be willing to create a theme for Firefox? I've been using your wallpaper, iconset and karamba applets for a couple weeks and I really, really love them. I'd like to match my Firefox theme to this great enviornment, too.

Thanks!
Dai

Thanks, I really take it as a complement when someone downloads my stuff and actually keeps using it :)

As long as I do not need any special programming ability, I will attempt to make a firefox theme (a few people have asked now).

Thanks,
Danny.

Thanks, Danny! If you'd kindly be able to do that, I (among many others) would much, much appreciate it.

Keep up the great work!
