Description:

Exquisite is a port of the Xp_Mad icon set created byMimin Ladha. Additional icons by Ghast (action icons) were added to complete the icon set, but additinal releases will follow. This icon set uses a modified version of the build script created by Nick Bargnesi. As a result, the download is only 2 MB instead of 10 MB(Yes, I still have love for 56k users). The only tools required to create the entire icon set are bzip, tar, and convert (ImageMagik). Unpackage the Exquisite.tar.bz2 compressed file and run the included script buildset (./buildset - for newbies). Afterwards, use the Kcontrol center to install the icon set. Please provide some feed back about the icon set. I hope most people like it. If not, give me a good vote anyway :-)

Create a folder called Exquisite and download the build kit to this folder. Extract the contents using ark (extract utility) or in a terminal issue the following command -> cd Directory_name, followed by -> tar -xvjf Exqusite.tar.bz2. Once all the files have been extracted run the build script by typing the following command in the terminal -> ./buildset

After the Exqusite icon Package is built by the script, install the icons using the KDE icon center. The fully built Equisite icon package will be larger that the compressed package containing the icon build kit.

I suppose I could add new icons, but I think I'm going to work on OS-L first. I am going to update the Konqueror button icons in the next couple of days so look for the update.

Now normally, this would be the part were I would go back off on you with a tiraid that matches the one in your previous post, however, because this is the Christmas season, I'm just going to say that I'm sorry my package has caused you such grief. I created the script which builds this icon set, because free webspace comes at a premium these days. Once this package is fully built, it is very large, and I just cant spare the space. You may be corect in saying that Linux is far from being mainstream because of scripts and the requirment that you have to know a little about computing, but, an educated user is a better user, so if you take the time to learn something, it can only help you. There's not mush else I can say other than if you absoultely can't build the full icon set, send me an email, and I'll find some space for the fully built set for you to download. Have a merry Christmas, and know that both God and I love you and wish you the very best. Meeeeeeeeeeeeeery Christmas and a happy New Year

How DARE you taking people with low bandwidth connections into consideration? How can you be so cruel? Also, I find it appalling that you actually expect the user to be able to read and expect that they'll actually are capable of thinking.

It's much easier for such 'tards to install icons in Windows, you know, 'cause then they can get their "über geek" cousin to do it for them... Something tells me that the person "complaining" wasn't the same one who complained about the Konsole icon. ;)

BTW, happy new year :)

Your package sucks. I unzipped it, and instead of creating a nice neet folder for the files, it puked out the contents of the package into my home directory. Way to go.

I guess that would have been ok if whatever convoluted system you used to "install" these icons actually worked, but it doesnt. WHY COULD YOU NOT HAVE SIMPLY USED KDE'S SYSTEM FOR INSTALLING ICONS?!? just browse to the package from within KDE and install them?!?

Going throug some stupid process of unpacking/installing/compiling/whatever FOR ICONS is a complete waste of time. This is why so many people wont use linux. Installing something as trivial as ICONS has to be some "uber geekish" process. You may feel like much more of a super-geek having developed some ass-backwards process, but the rest of us have just wasted a lot of time. Save the extra steps for kernel-compiling, source editing, etc. I don't need to be jerked around over f*ck*ng ICONS!!!

KDE 3.2 says this is not a valid icon theme archive. How can I install them? It looks great. (But not good enough to change my icons one by one :) )

You've got to build the icon set first, then install it. Unpack the archive in a folder and run the buildscript with the following command: ./buildscript

Follow the instructions that will appear after you run the script and you should be able to successfully install and use the icon set.

There is an alternate icon that you can download that doesn't have the c:\. Look at the download section.

The beauty of using the build kit is the fact that before you build the icon set, you can replace any of the icons you don't like with replacement icons. Remove the taskbar icons and then build the icon set.

Salut and Salutations...

It was a little vision problem. Actually, the problem finding convert was the real presence of convert in my PC. I found Mandrake RPM version of ImageMagic working without apropiate convert suport.

It`s a good recommendation for MANDRAKE USERS to compile ImageMagic source code= "not to install the precompiled RPM version" (I`m using MDK version 10).

Thanks a lot !!

And Just a sugestion: improve the taskbar icons.

See you soon.

To find convert, you may need to update your local file system database with the following command before you try and locate the file.

updatedb -u

The database will be rebuilt from the root tree.

man updatedb will provide more options.

FIRST AT ALL: Thanks for loving me !! I'm a 56K user (mmm....) This icon set could be the best. For me it is and probably will be.

THE ERROR:
Checking for bzip2... found /usr/bin/bzip2
Checking for tar... found /bin/tar
Checking for convert... which: no convert in (/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin/:/usr/games:/home/faustus/bin)
no.

No convert found in path.

IN FACT I CAN`T FIND THAT CONVERT ROUTINE ON LOCAL OR WEB STORAGES.

Have you any ideas ??
Thanks !!
