Gnome-OSX-Experimental
GTK3 Themes
Description:

This is an experiment on theming nautilus (the file-manager in gnome) on the basis of my other theme: gnome-OSX

Look at the screenshot: you will see the transparent sidebar going all the way into the headerbar.
This is a visual trick however: The headerbar-background is aligned with the sidebar-background.

How to:

1. This is gnome-desktop 3.20+. Install this theme on it.
2. Absolutely necessary is to put the buttons to the left, so open a terminal:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences button-layout "close,minimize,maximize:"
3. Resize the sidebar all the way to the left (minimal). This way it should aligne with the headerbar.
That's it!
Only Nautilus is themed differently, the rest will look like Gnome-OSX.

As I said: it is an experiment. If you resize the sidebar to the right it will not work...
I need help though ! Who can tell me how to make it so that nautilus sidebar cannot be resized, or into a fixed pixel-size?...

Left panel of the Nautilus is somewhat bigger. But don't reduce it. Increase the icon size and font size of the left panel like in macOS sierra theme.

I have to admit this is very beautiful.
It's working with ARCH GNOME v3.22.2 and most everything seems intact so far. The back/forwad button are shifted out of place slightly because of the right position of the windows buttons. Great work so far.

yes, only nautilus specifically is themed

By the way: do you have any idea how to set a fixed position on the size of the sidebar. Or a script that disables resizing of the sidebar?

You can use
-GtkPaned-handle-size: 0;
to hide the resize pane so that sidebar doesn't change size

Just put it into the css file?
