Description
-----------
Based on a Ubuntu 18.04 design concept. Works with GNOME 3.20 and up.

Wallpaper is included. More preview images are at the GitHub page since GL has an image limit.

Extensions
----------
Dash to dock. Enable panel mode and position it on the left.
Dynamic Panel Transparency. The non-dark variant comes with a semi-transparent panel. In an ideal world, the top panel would become completely black when a window is maximized but we don't live in that world yet. I highly recommend this extension.

V2.3 10 months ago

Fixes a couple of issues. Some small changes for 3.26 like removing the gradient effect in Ubuntu 17.10 (thanks to kfstudio).

I largely preferred the original, too, even though it's less authentic. I like purple and the contrast with the orange widgets. I did fix my gtk.css to correct the checkboxes and radio buttons - though I might have missed some! Here's my fix.

I prefered the flat plat version! :(

OK I am totally flashed by this Theme!! Its AMAZING!! This is how "Unity/Gnome" has to look like in 2017.

But is there a chance to set the "Global Dark Theme"? If I activate the button nothing happens...

Great theme! there is a bug with some context menus though http://imgur.com/a/EU0AT (v1.1)

Okay, what am I doing wrong - I tried adding Chromium styling based on that of the Flat-Pat based version to apps.rc, so I can use system titlebars without it looking weird, but it changes nothing. = [

I don't know why I didn't think of that to be honest. It'll be change in the next version.

Hmm, are the original flatplat-based version and the purple for selection color gone for good? I quite liked them and wish they were maintained as variants, but I understand if it's not viable.

The purple or the Flat-Plat base? Because I can easily make a purple variant. And... I might be going back to Flat-Plat as I sorted out my issue with it. It's very Material heavy so I was just spending a lot of time stripping away just that (in the wrong place)

Cool. Yeah, a variant using the purple from 1.0 would be nice, as it works better with the Moka folders IMO. And this Arc-based version doesn't look half bad either, but I wouldn't expect one person to maintain two separate themes out of good will lol. I could see that becoming quite the ordeal.

How hilarious would it be for the United theme to be forked? XD

Such a beautiful theme, and a wonderful place to land after transitioning to GNOME from Unity - I'm on 16.04, so this was the impetus for me to switch to the Staging PPA, upgrade to GNOME 3.20 and uninstall Unity. This theme is such a beautiful symbol for the "united" future of the Ubuntu desktop. I hope there's a fix for those checkboxes soon, though!

I'm glad you like it. I've updated it and fixed my checkbox hiccup. Sorry about that.

Very nice!! Specially for being a V1. Let's hope Canonical take a look at this.
A Dark variant and a "Laptop" mode (narrower menus) would be awesome.

I can confirm the issues with GTK+ 3.24.
Aside of them it's very good looking!

Actually I just noticed the colors in the calendar (orange) aren't consistent with the rest of the shell.

V2.3 10 months ago

Fixes a couple of issues. Some small changes for 3.26 like removing the gradient effect in Ubuntu 17.10 (thanks to kfstudio).

V2.2 1 year ago

Bug fixes.
Compact versions.
Debian + Antergos variants.
GTK3 check and radio buttons are done through CSS instead of with external assets.
Toolbuttons don't have the 3D effect applied to them anymore.
Unity support (only Ubuntu and Ubuntu-Alt variants)
Shell overview is darker with a slight gradients.
New window buttons.

V2.1.3 1 year ago

More mundane buttons to avoid rogue white on white issues. Both buttons and entry fields inherit more of Suru to balance out their dumbing down.

Fixed some background color inconsistencies and numerous GTK2 issues.

The slider and terminal closer resembles Unity 8's. In the former's case, it looked too similar to Material Design's.

Checkboxes and radio buttons are now smaller.

Shell OSD elements now use a border image which lets them stand out a bit more.

The list view has soft borders between items for easier differentiation.

If using the transparent Shell theme and desktop icons were enabled, there would be a white line above the panel, this has been removed and desktop icon text is now white.

V2.1.2 1 year ago

Tweaked transparency for visibility reasons.
Cleared up issue with the Shell crashing when opening a couple apps. Source was the background color to indicate running status in dash to dock so they've been removed. Sorry about that.

V2.1.1 1 year ago

Tweaked the palette to match the Ubuntu/Suru palette.
The notification dot in the Shell theme matches the variant's primary color (orange for Ubuntu, blue for Fedora, etc).
Changed the look of the window shadow.
Overshoot/undershoot coloring is less prominent.
Thicker Shell calendar arrows.
Increased the size of checkboxes and moved over to new Ambiance-based check and radio buttons for irony's sake and also because Unity 8's assets are too thin and won't look good in case.

Fixes:
Selected progressbars were all white.
A couple small hover/active state styling inconsistencies.
Windows would pop when changing from focus from one to the other.
The Shell's rounded buttons would have a black background color behind them.
Dialog boxes had no shadow behind them.
GTK2 separators were the same color as the background. (W O W!)

V2.0.1 1 year ago

Finetuning, couple fixes (notebook tabs would sometimes be in the primary color for some reason) and variants for everybody. Previews are on the github page since there's just too many images right now. If you want a more agnostic launcher logo, for now, you can grab a couple logos in the launcher icons archive and do some renaming. I don't know how to do anything except for loops in bash right now so no script yet, sorry.

V2.0 1 year ago

The GTK2 and GTK3 themes have been overhauled and the Shell theme has gotten a couple of tweaks but nothing as extensive as the GTK themes. The purple buttons have regrettably been scrapped because of a dead end problem with Firefox, but hey, no more grey text on purple buttons at least! A Fedora variant is now included.

V1.8 to V1.9 1 year ago

Bug fixes and coherency improvements.

V1.8 1 year ago

A whole lot of cleaning up was done. The colours are a lot more balanced, readability and focus has been upped, etc. Don't feel bad about reporting bugs!

V1.7.6 1 year ago

Blaze it edition. Couple fixes for the Light theme, more than just a couple for the dark and darker themes (I've been compiling it without the fixes partial the whole time). No luck with LibreOffice outside of that one fix. Source files are now on GitHub. Please don't laugh at my disorganization.

V1.7.4 1 year ago

Light and Mixed shell variants (there are too much to explain what's different now) GTK3 clean up, assets have been tidied up yet again and a couple button subtypes had some inherited-by-accident rules (you might have noticed the radio and checkboxes looking off along with the color swatch just looking plain weird).

An almost perfect theme, if you ask me! Very stylish and clean. I especially like the wide, but fitting use of transparency. BUT: Why on earth gray fonts on the desktop (I enabled files on desktop in Tweak Tool)? I can (barely) tolerate them in the Nautilus sidebar, but gray fonts on the desktop hurt my eyes. The default white would be great here.
