Gnome Shell Themes

Description:

Maxim is a bright, fresh, spacious and easy on the eye theme.

I have been working a lot on the details in this theme, but there are most likely stuff which I haven't covered. If you notice something which looks out of place then don't be afraid to drop a message or comment and I'll have a look at it :-)

This is a fork of my previous theme, Axiom, so if you liked that you will (hopefully) love this.

----------------------| Installation |-
1) Extract the archive and put Maxim in ~/.local/share/themes/
2) Select Maxim from Gnome Tweak Tool
3) Enjoy.

----------------------| Useful extensions |-
User themes [ https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/19/user-themes/ ] You need this.

Panel transparency [ https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/1011/dynamic-panel-transparency/ ]

Dock [ https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/307/dash-to-dock/ ] Tip: Turn off the Show Window Count Indicator if you want the active program to have a dock-shadow.

Legacy icons [ https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/1031/topicons/ ]

I made a tweak for Firefox to blend in better in the Elementary Desktop, but it works with Gn-OSX-Sierra too [ http://hackan301.deviantart.com/art/Firefox-ElementaryOS-684374615 ]

FYI:
GTK+ theme: Gn-OSX-HSierra
Icon theme: La Capitaine
Wallpaper: elementaryOS

Great theme!
I couldn't find this theme on github so I'm reporting a little bug here:
gnome-shell[1738]: loading user theme: /home/u/.themes/Maxim/gnome-shell/gnome-shell.css
gnome-shell[1738]: Ignoring length property that isn't a number at line 818, col 24

I'm using Fedora 26 with Gnome 3.24.2

Gaps among items in the menus need to be adjusted especially for thrid party menus like arc menu. And if I'm not mistaken, the origin right-click menus once had a silver gradient background. It's pity that the dazzling white has taken the place.Anyway, good theme!

Assuming you are talking about the right-click-menus in the dock I think that the gaps between items might be separators. Nevertheless I will have a look at it, as well with the arc menu.
Yeah, "Axiom" has a bit of a gradient in the menus. But here the design developed more and more towards being flat and clean.

Thank you for your feedback :-) And also glad you like the theme :-)

Window titles in Overview have different positions in v.26, so I am making a version for v.24 so that Gnome stable is also up to date.

| 2017 10 16 | 8 months ago

- Fixed window titles in Overvierw. They seem to end up in weird places in the new Gnome shell.
- For those who use Arc Menu this update also includes a fix for the panel-icon. It inherits the color-settings from icons in the panel-menus so I have given them a tiny white shadow in order for the panel-icon to be shown against darker backgrounds.

| 2017.08.07 | 10 months ago

* Fixed color for default button. However it only seems to apply for password-dialogs. Not sure at this point if that is a Shell-limitation. Will continue to try to include all modal dialogs.
* Adjusted shadows for panel text and icons so that they can be seen better with really bright wallpapers.

| 2017.07.28 | 10 months ago

* Updated the colors in an attempt to make them brighter and happier.
* Polished the dock

The changes can be seen in the screenshots

Let me know what you think :-)

| 2017.07.24 | 10 months ago

* Fixed bug in Switcher-list which made programs with overflow-text move when highlighted
* Polished submenus

| 2017.07.23 | 10 months ago

* Made the OSD level-background light-blue to make the level-bar clearer
* Gave items in submenus some indent, somehow it seems friendlier to the eye
* Redesigned the buttons in modal dialogs
* Changed button-colors here and there based on the button-role :-)

| 2017.07.21 | 11 months ago

* Remade menus and On Screen Displays.
* Experimenting a bit with green in calendar and menus
* Polished detailes here and there

| 2017.07.12 | 11 months ago

* Remade Dock
* Gave all apps in Icon-Grid and text in Search-result-list shadows
* Remade Task-Switch
* Gave the Search-field a more transparent look when not in use
* Also, for those who use the OpenWeather-extension: Fixed text color-bug.

Spent some time on the Workspace-Thumbnails in the Overview, I decided it needed a bit more body and I think the outcome is pretty sweet. Preview on the last photo.
Let me know what you think and vote/plus up if you like my work :-)

FYI: The icon theme is La Capitaine and the wallpaper is from deepin.

| 2017.07.06 | 11 months ago

* Did some work on the Task-Switch

| 2017.07.05 | 11 months ago

* Changed border and added shadow to dock
* Changed transparency on boxes in app-grid and search-results.
